  • MY FAMILY WILL CURSE ME IF I TURN DOWN AN OPPORTUNITY TO BE AN AMERICAN – KWAKU MANU

MY FAMILY WILL CURSE ME IF I TURN DOWN AN OPPORTUNITY TO BE AN AMERICAN – KWAKU MANU

One of Kumawood‘s finest actors, Kwaku Manu has disclosed that he has no plans to turn down the offer of an American citizenship should it ever be offered to him.

The comic actor in a chit-chat with zionfelix.net stated that if even he decided to turn down the offer for reasons which will be best known to him, his entire family will surely curse him because it will be a very unwise decision.

Kwaku revealed that his decision comes out of the many problems Ghana is faced with which are not getting any tangible solutions to them. Speaking on Zionfelix Uncut during a presentation of some items and payment of bills for some sick people at the Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital by his ‘mom’, Prophetess Vida Osei Mensah, the actor enumerated many of the problems facing Ghana.

He listed the lack of ambulances, the inadequate infrastructure in the health sector, the lack of maintenance culture for health facilities as part of the many reasons why he will gladly give up his Ghanaian citizenship without thinking twice about it.

The actor and musician who is also known as Bob Siga quoted a surprising philosophical saying to back his case. He stated that sometimes there is the need to sell one’s mother to get power, for once the power is acquired, the individual can gladly go back and get his mother back. Which was to say that he will gladly sell his Ghanaian citizenship to go out there and work in order to come back to the country and help out because the leaders are failing to a very large extent.

  • ANY MAN WHO FAILS TO GIVE HIS WOMAN AN ORGASM IS GOING TO HELL – COUNSELLOR LUTTERODT

ANY MAN WHO FAILS TO GIVE HIS WOMAN AN ORGASM IS GOING TO HELL – COUNSELLOR LUTTERODT

If you are a believer of either the Bible or the Quran and you have ever wondered the things that might prevent you from going to Heaven, then controversial marriage counselor, George Lutterodt, has a very simple message for you.

According to George Lutterodt, if you are a man out there and you live according to all the principles prescribed by both the Bible and Quran but fail to give your woman an orgasm and the needed pleasure anytime you have sexual intercourse with her, then you have to totally forget about ever making it to heaven.

In a short speech at Prophet Sampson Amoateng’s ‘Stars in Worship’ which took place at the House of Miracle Ministries at Madina Estate, the controversial marriage counselor who was preaching about the importance of orgasm made the point that a man’s ability to effectively satisfy his woman in bed is part of the reasons why God created him and as such any man who fails to do that, will surely go to hell.

He also reiterated during his orgasm speech that any man who has a challenge sexually will surely have a problem with his spiritual life because sexual intercourse is important to worship. Counsellor Lutterodt also added that the process of worshipping is the same process one goes through when having sex and showed that, by touching his body on the stage.

  • TUC KICKS AGAINST PRIVATIZATION OF PUBLIC PAYROLL SYSTEM

TUC KICKS AGAINST PRIVATIZATION OF PUBLIC PAYROLL SYSTEM

The Trades Union Congress (TUC) has kicked against a decision by government to outsource the management of the public pay roll system to a private entity.

According to TUC, the private sector has a profit motive and may compromise the process to maximize profit.

“There are many private sectors that are failing including banks which we are paying for. So where comes the idea that the private sector can do better than the public sector,” Director of Research at the TUC, Dr. Kawbena Nyarko Otoo questioned at a Post 2019 Budget Forum organized by the Union in collaboration with the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung foundation.

Government in the mid-year budget statement mentioned that it is considering outsourcing the national payroll system to a private company to ensure effective management of the system.

This, the Finance Ministry said is to reduce the wage bill which as at 2017 stood at 45 percent of total tax revenue.

The ratio of wage bill to national tax revenue dropped from 70 percent in 2010 to 45 percent in 2017, however, it still remains one of the largest expenditures of government’s items besides debt servicing.

Government is currently targeting to reduce the figure to 35 percent by the end of 2019.

The Finance Ministry is hoping to achieve this by deleting all ‘ghost’ names from the payroll system.

However, Dr. Nyarko Otoo said privatizing the payroll system is not the solution to Ghana’s high wage bill.

“This idea that every problem in the public sector can be solved only by privatizing for us is neither here nor there. Controller and Accountant General has little competence to payroll administration and so a separate unit can be created within the Finance Ministry while the Controller and Accountant General focuses on the key role of paying public sector workers,” Dr. Nyarko Otoo noted. Over 34,000 ‘ghost’ names were deleted from the payroll in 2012.

In 2017, 27,000 names were deleted from the payroll data of SSNIT pension earners.

In another exercise, a little over 23,000 names were suspended from the payroll as the individuals could not be accounted for.

  • SHATTA WALE WILL DIE ON 24TH DECEMBER – PROPHET CLAIMS

SHATTA WALE WILL DIE ON 24TH DECEMBER – PROPHET CLAIMS

Funny how these Prophets can see doom but never blessings. Well, one has a doom prophecy for dancehall musician Shatta Wale. A video on Instagram shows a pastor prophesying unto his congregation. Among his prophecies was one meant for Shatta Wale.

He said, “God said I should tell Shatta Wale that if he is not very careful and cautious, he will be involved in an accident in December and die.”

He also said 4 major accidents involving Yutong buses would occur on the Accra-Kumasi road. This he attributed to politicians specifically a particular political party.

Hmmm … these dregs up painful memories of when pastors came up to claim Ebony’s death. The frequency at which death prophecies are doled out in this country, one would think we only have Prophets of Doom living amongst us.

  • FAIRTRADE TO RAISE FLOOR PRICE FOR COCOA FARMERS

FAIRTRADE TO RAISE FLOOR PRICE FOR COCOA FARMERS

Fairtrade International will raise the floor price and fixed premium it requires companies to pay cocoa farmers for their beans under its scheme, the non-profit organisation has said.

According to Reuters, the certification group will increase its Fairtrade Minimum Price for conventional cocoa by 20 percent, from $2,000 to $2,400 per tonne. The new pricing structure will take effect on Oct. 1, 2019.

The fixed premium that farmers receive on top of the base price – used to fund business and community projects – will also increase from $200 to $240.

The changes come as certification bodies face criticism for not doing enough to address issues such as poverty, child labour and deforestation in the cocoa supply chain.

A Fairtrade study this year found that in top grower Ivory Coast 58 percent of cocoa farming households certified by the scheme earned incomes below the extreme poverty line.

“The challenges in the West African cocoa sector are huge,” Fairtrade said in a release. “The new Fairtrade Minimum Price will allow average Fairtrade cocoa growing households to earn above the extreme poverty line.”

Ivory Coast and Ghana, the world’s top cocoa producers, also have floor prices for farmers but they are adjusted each season depending on the world price, which leaves farmers exposed to fluctuations.

Fairtrade is the only major certifier that requires buyers to pay a minimum price and a fixed premium. It says its pricing model provides a crucial safety net for farmers when prices drop, although it has inspired some big companies to move away from Fairtrade.

The award-winning actress was assigned to join Naa Ashorkor and Sammy Forson to help transform the flagship radio station of the group, Joy FM.

The big money signing joined Lexis Bill as the co-host of the station’s late afternoon show, Drive Time on Joy FM.

She was also billed to be hosting shows on Joy News and Joy Prime. According to reports, Joselyn’s appointment was said to have caused disaffection among staff members at the media firm as her role was not clearly defined.

Some of the staff believed that there were already enough capable hands to execute her tasks and hence her signing was unnecessary.

  • ADMIT YOU MADE MISTAKES THAT TRIGGERED FEUD WITH REGULATORS – HAMMER TO NAM 1

ADMIT YOU MADE MISTAKES THAT TRIGGERED FEUD WITH REGULATORS – HAMMER TO NAM 1

Barely twenty-four (24) hours after Members of the Coalition of Aggrieved Customers of Menzgold on Tuesday, 27 November 2018, hit the streets of Accra to protest against the management of the gold-trading firm, the Chief Executive Officer, Nana Appiah Mensah has replied the customers.

Aggrieved Customers protested against Menzgold management in demand for the payment of their full principal investments locked-up with the company.

The displeased Menzgold Boss who believes that the Coalition of Aggrieved Customers are adding more woes to the already unsolved issues which dent his personality responded to the demonstration by the customers.

In his tweet, Nana Appiah Mensah indicated that Menzgold customers have taken heed to misconceptions and destroying his hard-earned reputation.

“Instead of us being resolute, you’ve fallen for the misconceptions and further denigration of my name & the brand. We shall do the needful now. God knows we defended our collective cause. #Posterity #Hail! Menzgold Global” NAM1 Tweeted

However, the CEO of The Last Two Music Group, Edward Nana Poku Osei, known in showbiz circles as Da Hammer sent a subtle reply to Nana Appiah Mensah to admit that his mistakes triggered the feud with regulators resulting in his misfortunes.

“I know u genuinely wntd to make & share e wealth wi ur fellow Ghanaians bt u must admit dat u made mistakes dat triggered dis feud wi regulators resulting in ur misfortuns. The company was asked to shut down its Gold vault trading by the Security and Exchange Commission (SEC) in August, after its brushes with SEC and BoG over the company’s operations.

The state agencies insist Menzgold does not have the licence to conduct business in the manner it was doing by paying dividend to clients.

Meanwhile, the company has shifted its operations online to replace their initial business of trading gold with customers and paying dividend at their offices.

  • INCREASE AGRIC PRODUCTION TO SUSTAIN GHANA COMMODITY EXCHANGE

INCREASE AGRIC PRODUCTION TO SUSTAIN GHANA COMMODITY EXCHANGE

Some private operators in the agribusiness value chain have suggested targeted investments into the agricultural sector to increase production and sustain the Ghana Commodity Exchange (GCX).

According to the Managing Director of RMG Ghana, William Kotey, existing programs like planting for food and jobs could be expanded to reach more farmers with the provision of their basic working needs.

He made the remarks when he took his turn at CIMG’s Evening lecture series on Thursday, November 29, 2018.

“We are saying that you must make sure that the links that will make it beneficial to farmers are really put in place so if we are asked to offer whatever services that we have, we are ready to share. In ensuring that those facilities and systems are working,”

“Somebody will have to go back to the field and help in production levels so that the farmers can increase their yield and will have as much as needed to let the exchange operate,” he added.

Mr. Kotey, whose company has already signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ghana Commodity Exchange says they are assessing the operations and scope of the platform.

The Ghana Commodity Exchange provides a platform for farmers to get competitive prices for their produce by connecting sellers to buyers. It was launched on November 7, 2018 by President Akufo Addo.

The Exchange will allow the buying and selling of listed agricultural commodities in the country.

For now, the platform trades in grains and calls have started pouring in for other commodities like cocoa to be brought on board.
