I will buy cockerel to do Kokrokoo every morning” – Sam George sends strong message to Peace FM over NDC return
Member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampram, Hon Sam George has sent a strong message to Peace FM, an Accra-based radio station, concerning the appeal by the management asking NDC to return to their flagship morning show ‘Kokrokoo’.

This response from the young legislator comes on the back of a recent letter that was signed by Fadda Dickson, the Managing Director of the station, appealing to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to call off their boycott.

It can be recalled that earlier this year, the NDC through its Communication Officer, Mr Sammy Gyamfi, announced the party’s decision never to send a representative to the show over allegations that they are not being treated fairly.

In a tweet, Sammy Gyamafi blatantly stated without equivocation, that the NDC is bigger than Peace FM and will not kowtow to the dictates of the host, Kwami Sefa Kayi, who they describe as politically-biased.

Following that, Sam George in a Facebook post has said a return to the show by the NDC will be an indictment to the party, its followers and what they believe in.

Methinks the Party should stay with the wishes of the base reference Kokrokoo.
If anyone desperately wants the party back on the show, I am willing to buy a cockerel to do kokrokoo every morning for you.

Almost 90% Of Men In Ghana Want To Be Raped But They Don’t Get The Chance – Lady Says
While most women are crying and cursing men who sexually abuse them, a lady by name Agudie Afia Nkumin has said that most men in Ghana wish to be raped but they don’t get the opportunity.

There are so many human rights activists fighting for rape victims and most of these victims happen to be women. The cases of men being rape victims is very low hence it is assumed women are the ones who suffer the most.

Well, according to Agudie in a Facebook post sighted by Ghbase.com, despite the trauma that comes with rape, there are 90% of men in Ghana who wish to be in the same situation as the women, but unfortunately for them, they don’t get the opportunity.

Her post was approved by most of her followers who agreed with her assertion. So the big question here is, why would anyone want to be raped regardless of their gender. Do men really want to be raped? Do they also get traumatized as the women who get sexually abused?

Military woman who got married to lesbian partner detained and facing a court-martial

The Ghanaian military lesbian couple who got married over the weekend has reportedly been detained by the military and is facing court-martial.

Earlier, Ghbase reported on the private ceremony that was organized in Ghana that had a military lady joined with her civilian partner in holy matrimony with cheers from onlookers and attendees.

After the video hit the internet, many have expressed varying concern at the phenomenon and have described it as abominable and unacceptable.

According to reports gathered, the taller and masculine lady who is a military woman has been detained and currently facing a court-martial.

She is being detained primarily for handing over her military uniform to her partner for taking pre-wedding photos; an act that is not in tandem with the conventions of the Ghana Armed Forces.

Afia Shwarzenegger Angry As She Sends Warning To Political Parties After Presidential Staffer Insulted Fadda Dickson
The queen of comedy and social media influencer, Afia Shwarzenegger, has angrily sent out a warning to political parties and politicians after Fadda Dickson was insulted by a Presidential staffer.

Presidential staffer who goes by the name, Nii Teiko Tagoe, went on social media to rain insults on Fadda Dickson, calling him ‘Ofui’ and that common sense had eluded him.

This ill statement caused the Despite Media Group to descend heavily on the Presidential staffer this morning on their, Adekye Nsroma on UTV.

Queen Afia Shwarzenegger has also joined the defense of Fadda Dickson who happens to be her godfather, sending a warning to political parties and politicians.

The comedienne took to her Instagram page to register her displeasure and send out a warning that they should know anytime they send a stupid person to insult him, he has a stupid daughter waiting to reply them.

She said, “Let me send this warning to all political parties..

My father @faddick is a broadcaster and a business man Not a politician..

He will make decisions that will benefit the business not any political party.

Any day you send your stupid boys to insult him,just bare in mind he has a stupid daughter waiting to reply your foolish souls!!!!

Despite Media Descend Heavily On Nii Teiko Tagoe, A Presidential Staffer For Insulting Fadda Dickson

This morning, the Despite Media group didn’t take it lightly at all on Mr. Nii Teiko Tagoe for insulting their Managing Director, Fadda Dickson.

Apparently the Presidential staffer, Nii Teiko Tagoe, went on social media to insult this reputable man in society, telling him common sense Has eluded him, and added ‘Ofui’.

On UTV this morning, the host of Adekye Nsoroma and her colleagues who were having a newspaper review descended heavily on the Presidential staffer for saying such ill things about Fadda Dickson.

They said, if not the proper training Fadda Dickson had given them, they could have equally gone to the gutters with him, and later asked his leaders to call him to order and make him retract his statements against Fadda Dickson.

Asante Kotoko Players Should Be Seen As Celebrities – Nana Yaw Amponsah

Wikipedia defines a celebrity as a condition of fame and broad public recognition of an individual or group, or occasionally a character or animal, as a result of the attention given them by mass media.

Come to Ghana, any school-drop out who has managed to buy Instagram followers citing Akuapem Poloo, Efia Odo and Co. are all claiming celebrity status – SMH.

Riding on the above, it’s no surprise that Nana Yaw Amponsah who happens to be the incumbent CEO of Kumasi Asante Kotoko has postulated that every player of the great football club deserves celebrity status.

“If a Kumawood actor is tagged as a celebrity, why can’t Kotoko player be in the same tag? Our players must get an endorsement from big brands”, Nana Yaw Amponsah said on Kumasi-based Opemsuo 104.7FM.

On records, Asante Kotoko Sporting Club, also known as Asante Kotoko, is a professional football club from Kumasi, Ashanti Region in Ghana West Africa. Their home grounds is based at Baba Yara Stadium in Amakom, Kumasi. They compete in the Ghanaian Premier league.

Ah well, do you think our footballers especially players of Kumasi Asante Kotoko deserve to be called celebrities? Personally, Nana Yaw Amponsah’s candid opinion is simply apt as far as peeps like Serwaa Amihere, Wendy Shay, others who are not adding up to national development are regarded as Ghanaian celebrities.

I Can Never Support John Mahama’s NDC – Kweku Baako

From the look of things, it seems there’s something wrong with the political affiliation of John Dramani Mahama considering the words of some respectable personalities in Ghana.

Not long ago, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong of Assin Central fame made it known that he likes the personality of Mahama as he appears very gentle, but politics and NDC as a party have ruined his character.

Now, Kweku Baako Jnr, the Managing Editor of the New Crusading Guide newspaper has made it emphatic that he doesn’t like the political party Mr. John Dramani Mahama belongs to.

The seasoned journalist in an interview on Metro TV openly stated that inasmuch as he likes former President John Mahama as a “brother and friend”, he can never support his political ambition by voting for NDC.

Kweku Baako added that “I like Mahama, but he runs on a vehicle I can’t support”.

So, riding on this, perhaps it’a high time Mahama consider dumping NDC and joining a different party which can be Akua Donkor’s own of Osofo Kyiriabosom GUM or if possible, sets up his own political party.

Passengers stranded as Western Togoland group blocks major entry routes to Volta Region

Members of secessionist group, Homeland Study Foundation, also known as Western Togoland group have blocked major entries into the Volta Region.

The action by the group is believed to have taken place on the dawn of Friday, September 25, 2020.

Most passengers travelling to areas in the Volta Region including Tefle, Tsopoli and Juapong have all been left stranded as a result of the development.

Per a Citi News report, some three persons have suffered gunshots wounds.

There are also reports of attacks on a number of police posts amidst the burning of tyres.

“The Western Togoland members have blocked all the roads in the Volta region. We don’t know what is going on because we are unable to go close to them. There are some navy personnel around. We have left our buses to go to Sogakope. We do not know what will happen amidst the gunshots the people are firing”, one of the stranded travellers told Citi News.

A local-based reporter, Thompson Ayumu on the Citi Breakfast Show narrated the incident with his eyewitness account.

Thousands of blocks were put on the roads and according to those in the first vehicle that got there; their mobile phones were taken from them by those who had blocked the road. Subsequently, all other vehicles were unable to get close to the place because they got to know what was going on there. Later on around 5:30 am the police and military came in to rescue the situation but people had gone into the bush and didn’t want to come close to the roadside.

He has also disclosed that the police and its agents have so far ensured order.

“Now, the road has been cleared now. I am talking about the Tema-Akosombo road. The place is between Kpong and Atimpoku. Now everything has been cleared away. The MCE and some security personnel are here and the people have left”, he added.

Despite Media Apologises to NDC
Giant media house, Despite Media, has officially written an apology letter to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and pleaded with their communicators to return to their platform after they staged a boycott on their award-winning morning show on Peace FM.

The biggest opposition announced a boycott over what the seemed to be bias and unfair treatment meted out to them: “The National Communication Bureau of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) wishes to inform all its communicators, media monitors, and officials that the party has boycotted Peace (104.3) FM’s morning show (Kookrokoo) effective today, Wednesday, 6th May 2020,” the party announced.

To show maturity and further deepen our democratic dispensation, Peace FM has written to the party to solve the issue amicably so they can share their platform too.

Rawlings’ mother Victoria Agbotui dies aged 101

Mother of former President Jerry John Rawlings, Victoria Agbotui, who recently celebrated her 101st birthday has died.

Sources close to the Rawlings family say Madam Agbotui had been unwell for some time now.

According to the sources, the mother of Mr Rawlings who recently celebrated her 101st birthday on September 9, 2020, had been unwell for a while.

The late Madam Victoria Agbotui was born in 1919 and has been a solid rock behind her son who has ruled the country for a period of 20 years.

During the reign of Mr Rawlings, Madam Agbotui was the head of the catering department at the presidency.

She was a native of Dzelukope near Keta in the Volta Region.

The one-time head of the catering department at the presidency during Rawlings’ era celebrated her 101st birthday on September 9.

The native of Dzelukope near Keta in the Volta Region marked the milestone in the company of Mr Rawlings and his wife, Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings.

She has been firmly behind her son in all aspects of his life [including his political career], however, she first appeared in the political scene when her son staged a coup in 1979.

The photo of the singer goes to add that she has left her beloved NDC who she campaigned for during the 2016 general elections.

It is left with just 75 days to the December 7 general elections and Gifty Osei and her mother was seen campaigning with her husband Hopeson Adorye.

Man commits suicide after allegedly killing his girlfriend over break-up

A 45-year-old man who is suspected to have killed his girlfriend in Cape Coast has been found hanging dead on a tree in a school.

Police in Elmina found Emmanuel Kwakye, who is suspected to have committed suicide, at the Bronyibima M.A. Basic school on Tuesday.

A friend of the deceased on Monday, September 21, had reported to the UCC police station that his friend was missing. According to him, he called his friend several times but his phone was off.

The complainant, who was from Akotokyir, subsequently, visited the residence of Emmanuel Kwakye at Kakumdo to find out what had happened to him. Instead, he saw a lady lying dead in the deceased’s room which had not been locked.

The police proceeded to the scene and found the body of the lady whose name was given as Georgina Sayel believed to be Emmanuel Kwakye’s girlfriend. When the body of Georgina was examined, a deep stab wound was found on her left rib with her brassier and dress soaked with blood.

A blood-stained black handle kitchen knife was found in the room when further checks were conducted. Some residents told JoyNews the 45-year-old was a teacher and owned two taxis.

They explained that he has been in a relationship with Georgina who had just completed the College of Education in Cape Coast.

Preliminary investigations by the police revealed that the deceased man is suspected to have killed his girlfriend before committing suicide.

The body of Georgina has since been deposited at the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital mortuary pending an autopsy. The case is still under investigation at the University of Cape Coast Police station.
