    I am Proud of my Ex- Boyfriend- Veteran Irene Opare

    Many a time, when couples break up, they treat their exes as enemies or wish they never crossed paths.

    Some women go to the extent of invoking curses on their ex-boyfriends after breakup.

    It is of course true that not all breakups end up breaking the hearts of women but the chunk of them obviously causes animosity among the couples.

    In the situation of Ghanaian actress Irene Opare and her ex-boyfriend Kwami Sefa Kayi, their breakup didn’t separate them but created a strong bond between them.

    Kwami Sefa Kayi, popularly called Chairman General, is the host of Peace FM’s morning show “Kokrokoo’’.

    He is a multi-awarded broadcaster and one of Ghana’s most respected journalists.

    He was adjudged Best Journalist of the Year in the year 2016.

    Speaking in an interview with Nkonkonsa.com, Irene Opare put on record that she has immeasurable respect for her ex-boyfriend, who is also the father of her first child, Fafa. 

    According to her, she is extremely proud of Mr. Sefa Kayi’s accomplishments, although they’re no longer together.

    “I’m so proud of him. I am so [so] proud of him. He has achieved a lot…I saw a bright future in him…I thank God for him to have achieved this height’’, she emphasized.

    She added that she harbors no ill intent for her ex, stressing

    “we all moved on after I gave birth but we’re fine. We have a child together. We have a bond; so we’re fine…We’re cool. Like I’m saying, we have a child. We have a bond that brings us together no matter what. We’re parents.’’

    Toymakers are expecting strong global sales during the critical end-of-year festive season, after a surge of pandemic-fuelled demand for items such as Barbies and board games.

    Hasbro, maker of Monopoly and Jenga, told investors on Monday it was poised for a “good holiday season”.

    The forecast followed rival Mattel’s report last week of its biggest sales jump in a decade.

    The firm’s Barbie dolls hit their highest quarterly sales since 2003.

    The gains have come as families buy toys and games in an attempt to fend off boredom amid the pandemic lockdowns.

    “The toy industry as a whole grew meaningfully and continues to demonstrate its resilience in challenging economic times,” said Mattel chief executive Ynon Kreiz.

    In the first nine months of the year, Hasbro sales grew 13% from 2019 – bucking the wider plunge in consumer spending around the world.

    At Mattel, sales are down 2% from 2019 – but some brands, such as Barbie, are having their strongest run in years.
    The firm said gross sales of the doll grew 15% year-on-year in the first nine months of 2020. In the most recent quarter, they rose 29% to more than $532m.

    Mattel told investors last week it was predicting holiday season sales growth of roughly 5% from last year – greater than many wider forecasts of festive season spending.

    However, analysts have warned that the pandemic may throw some surprises at toymakers in the upcoming months, as family budgets increasingly feel strains and concerns about coronavirus infection change holiday shopping dynamics.

    “Not only am I concerned that paycheque spending may be limited, but I’m concerned that we will not see that last minute rush into the stores due to fears of Covid-19,” Juli Lennett, vice president at market research firm NPD Group, wrote recently.

    But she said toymakers might still manage to see some gains.

    “As we’ve seen in previous economically challenged times, parents will sometimes forego their own needs to make their children happy. In this crazy, stressful year, parents might just go overboard and splurge on their kids -if they have money,” she said.

    This appalling act according to Sonnie Badu, has serious consequences which will not only disrupt the peace and unity in a country but also affect the youth.

    Sonnie Badu opined that the generation of these politicians will be the ones to suffer more when they have joined their ancestors or retire from politics.

    Let’s take the recent clash between NPP and NDC youths recently for instance. The politicians they are busily fighting for are sleeping in comfortable beds with air conditions while these youths are killing each other.

    Sharing her sad story, Salma wrote; “@mtnghana I believe it’s your workers! It must be looked into. My money must be found!!!! 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡 🇬🇭 this is becoming unbecoming. You assure us of our monies being safe with you but it’s all lies. You people must pay our monies to us. If you have been frauded before by this means please tag your service provider here. This is our hard-earned money.”

    However, it turned out that she lied big time and had no such amount in her MoMo wallet, let alone being stolen by MTN staff. It was all a gimmick meant to throw her ‘big girl’ weight in our face- well, that’s what MTN is saying in a press statement.

    Musician cum politician, Kwame Asare Obeng popularly known as A Plus has alleged that the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) went after the CEO of Despite Group of Companies following the display of luxury cars at son’s wedding.


    The wedding which was dubbed KENCY2020 was tagged as one of the most extravagant weddings in the history of Ghana due to the display of luxury and wealth with the union of Kennedy Asante Osei and Tracy Gyamfua Ameyaw.


    A Plus indicated that the move by the nation’s tax agency influenced Ernest Ofori Sarpong brother of Dr Kwame Despite to take a cue by organizing a wedding which didn’t display similar cars at the just ended wedding of his daughter, Cindy Ofori Sarpong in October 2020.


    “Do you know the kind of information I have, recently after the wedding (KENCY2020), GRA went after some people…I mean the first wedding. That is how come they didn’t line-up cars in the second wedding,” A Plus told Ola Micheal.


    Making his submission in an interview with Ola Micheal on Neat FM on Tuesday, October 21, he intimated that some government appointees are quick to come after people’s wealth.


    “Some people think that their government is in power so they can get the car auctioned so they get it, that is why they didn’t display cars in the second wedding,” he added.
