POLITICS NOT FOR COMEDIANS, TRY-AND-LUCKY PERSONS

A former National Nasara Coordinator aspirant of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Alhaji Ali Suraj has punched John Dumelo and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) describing them as comedians who think politics is like making movies.

Speaking to students affiliated to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) on the University of Ghana Campus, (UG-TESCON), Mr Suraj described John Dumelo as a novice who lacks what it takes to represent the most intellectual Constituency in the legislative House.

Ayawaso West Wuogon is too serious  Constituency to be represented in Parliament by “a try your luck person”, the Constituency has an enviable track record of Producing promising personalities including the Current Chief of Staff and the former MP, Hon. Frema Opare and late MP Kyeremanteng Agyako”, he lamented

Mr. Suraj, who was also a former USA Deputy Organizer of the NPP described John Dumelo as

He, further enumerated some impeccable and sterling achievements of the NPP government, including NABCO, Digitization of the Economy, Efficiency of clearing goods at the ports, one village one dam, Zongo development fund, Free SHS among others.

It is against this backdrop that Mr. Suraj is totally convinced of the NPP’s victory in the 2020 General elections.

  • REJECT NDC IN 2020 ELECTIONS 2020… Hon. Kofi Akpaloo

REJECT NDC IN 2020 ELECTIONS 2020… Hon. Kofi Akpaloo

The Founder and leader of the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG), Mr. Percival Kofi Akpaloo says Ghanaians should forget about National Democratic Congress (NDC) because their mentality is always stealing and embezzling of state coffers.

According to Mr. Akpaloo,” The NDC has always had the track record of stealing and looting from state coffers since 1979 and they should not be a political party Ghanaians should vest their trust in,”

“NDC’s governance is the most corrupt government in the history of Ghana, there is no question about that and Ghanaians should not give them a chance to rule Ghana again,’ he added

According to him, the mismanagement under the NDC administration was so enormous that it plunged the nation into huge debts in the early 1970s.

According to him, the party, even in opposition is still exhibiting incompetence in its dealings and its leaders lack integrity.

He stated that” NDC as a party has absolutely nothing, to offer Ghanaians. This is evident in their manifesto preparation. A party presents a manifesto to the people for scrutiny and contribution, not the other way round.

Mahama and the NDC, are clearly exhibiting their lack of ideas, direction, and vision. This is not an alternative to entertain or worthy of consideration.” According to him, the NDC single highhandedly collapsed the economy of a resourceful nation like ours, should not be allowed anywhere near the Jubilee House. Kofi Akpaloo discredited the NDC’s posture and utterances on recent happenings in the country. He appealed to Ghanaians to reject NDC come 2020, adding that the NDC should never be an alternative but Ghanaians should trust LPG in the 2020 elections

  • INDUSTRIALISATION A REALITY UNDER AKUFO-ADDO – NGLESHIE AMANFRO CHIEF

INDUSTRIALISATION A REALITY UNDER AKUFO-ADDO – NGLESHIE AMANFRO CHIEF

The Paramount Chief of Ngleshie Amanfro, Nii Kwarshie Gborlor IV, has praised the President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, for helping to establish two factories under Government’s flagship program for industrialization, ‘One District, One Factory.’

According to Nii Kwarshie Gborlor IV, “Before President Akufo-Addo came, successive governments have only paid lip service towards industrialization.  But under Akufo-Addo it is now a reality.”

He continued, “If we haven’t seen none at all, we have seen the Everpure Factory and the one producing sanitary pads. The pads that our women use so they do not disgrace themselves when their monthly time is due.”

The Ngleshie Amanfro Chief made this known on Monday, 2nd December 2019, when President Akufo-Addo attended a durbar of chiefs and people held in his honor at Ngleshie Amanfro.

Thanking the President for “the novel policies you rolled out since you came and for the appreciable economic environment you created for the country”, the Chief applauded the President for the strides made in bringing the economy back on track.

“Thanks to you our economy, per the indicators has been shaped in a better way. Some time past, all we use to hear was that inflation is always on the ascendency as if it was getting aboard a helicopter. But you have not only kept it stable but gone ahead to reduce it,” he added.

Touching on the Free Senior High Policy, Nii Kwarshie Gborlor IV noted that, prior to 2017, families had difficulties funding their wards education through school.

“More often than not, they are seen prowling the streets and indulging in all sorts of deviant activities. Now we have a good President in Akufo-Addo. Free SHS has come to create accessibility for families who want their wards in school yet cannot afford,” he added.

In view of this, he stressed that “if there be any child in this Ngleshie Amanfro constituency, who for some reason is not in school, I am appealing with you to draw my attention and it will be taken care of.”

  • PRESIDENT AKUFO-ADDO CALLS OFF REFERENDUM

    PRESIDENT AKUFO-ADDO CALLS OFF REFERENDUM

The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has called off the holding of the Referendum of 17th December 2019, citing the lack of a broad, national consensus amongst key stakeholders and the populace.

President Akufo-Addo has, thus, instructed the Minister for Local Government and Rural Development, Hon. Hajia Alima Mahama, MP, who is spearheading the process, on behalf of the government, to abort the process, and see to the withdrawal of the bills for the amendment of the Constitution, both in respect of article 243(1) and Article 55(3).

Addressing the nation on Sunday, 1st December 2019, the President indicated the attainment of a broad consensus, for him, on a matter as important as the amendment of an entrenched provision of the Constitution, is critical.

“I do not believe that such an amendment should be driven as a party matter. There has to be a clear national consensus and agreement amongst the populace that a particular entrenched provision no longer serves the interest of the people, and, thus, has to be removed,” he said.

He continued, “In this case, it had been long apparent that political parties were, in fact, actively involved in district assembly elections, despite their apparently non-partisan nature. The time had come to strip the process of its hypocrisy, and accept and work with the reality of party involvement.”

Explaining the rationale for his decision, the President stated that that he came into office, nearly three years ago, with the firm conviction, emanating from the campaign and national discussions, that there was a national consensus for two important amendments to the country’s governance system, which would enhance its effectiveness and accountability – the reorganization of the country’s regional governance structure, and the potential involvement of political parties in local governance.

It was in furtherance of this and other matters that, on Tuesday, 18th April, 2017, a little over four (4) months into my mandate, he held a meeting with his three predecessors, their Excellencies Jerry John Rawlings, John Agyekum Kufuor, and John Dramani Mahama, at Jubilee House, to seek their views and counsel on these issues.

“I came away from that meeting with the view that there was a consensus amongst us that the time had come for political parties to participate openly in district assembly elections and local governance,” he said.

President Akufo-Addo noted that, indeed, amongst the leadership of Parliament and amongst Members of Parliament on both sides, and amongst, virtually, all stakeholders who had been consulted either by him, or by the Minister for Local Government and Rural Development, the clear indications were that there was a broad national consensus for the repeal of article 55(3).

Debunking the notion that elections in Ghana’s 4th Republic have been divisive, the President stated that elections have rather been a unifying factor in the politics of the 4th Republic, the reason why “we have experienced the longest, uninterrupted period of stable, constitutional governance in our history, banishing the specter of instability that disfigured the early years of our nation’s existence, and the benefits are still showing. It would also mean that freedom of association, which is one of the most fundamental freedoms in any democracy, would be given full expression in Ghanaian democracy.”

Regrettably, President Akufo-Addo stated that the main opposition party, the National Democratic Congress, made a U-turn, and stated that it was no longer prepared to go along with the national consensus.

“They indicated further that they will actively campaign for a ‘No’ vote. In as much as I still believe that there is enough support in the country for a ‘Yes’ vote to be successful on 17th December, I do not believe that this is the proper atmosphere in which an issue of such nature, i.e. the repeal of an entrenched provision of the Constitution, should be addressed in our country,” he said.

Even after their U-turn, the President revealed that he undertook consultations across a broad range of opinion as to the way forward, with the general result being that the process of repeal should be put on hold, for the time being, to enable a durable, national consensus to be forged on this matter.

“In these circumstances, I am convinced that it will not serve the public interest to go ahead with the holding of the Referendum on 17th December, even though I believe a strong campaign for a ‘Yes’ vote would have succeeded. This is not the kind of atmosphere in which the repeal of an entrenched provision of the Constitution should take place,” he added.

Despite having an unrepentant belief in party politics being good for the country, President Akufo-Addo stated that “I also think that, on matters of such constitutional significance, there should be a broad, national consensus behind the repeal of an entrenched provision of the Constitution”.

The President assured that his Government will continue to work for a broad, national consensus on the issue, adding that “should such a consensus be attained for the repeal of article 55(3) of the Constitution, and an agreement reached for political parties to participate in and sponsor candidates for election to district assemblies, at any point during my tenure of office as President of the Republic, the matter will be brought again back to the front burner of our public discourse for the necessary action”.

  • NEPOTISM AND FAVOURITISM IN GOVERNANCE HAS INCREASE CORRUPTION IN GHANA – HON. AHENKWAA YAW FREDERICK

The communications headquarters of the National Democratic Congress recently announced the highest level of Nepotism (family and friends) governance in the NPP government. Names of fifty-one ruling members of the New Patriotic Party were mentioned allegedly as the relatives and friends of the president of Ghana H.E Nana Akuffo Addo.

This revelation has been the matter for discussion in the country.

Reacting to the revelation, the parliamentary candidate for the National Democratic Congress of Jaman North constituency Hon Ahenkwaa Yaw Frederick stated that, this family and friends’ government is the result of the greatest level of corruption in the country.

He said this on *Thursday, November 7, 2019.  ”If relatives and friends are assigned a position in governance, how do you arrest and prosecute them if they go beyond the rules of the governance. You can’t because blood is thicker than water, so it will be very difficult to set legal suits against them. He lamented.

Finally Hon. Ahenkwaa asserted that, due to the family and friends governance by the NPP government, Ghana is now bleeding of corruption and so, Ghanaians must vote for NDC because NPP is here to create, loot, share, suspended,  re-award then ask to go free.

GO TO COURT – NPP DARES NDC

The New Patriotic Party in the Ashanti region has challenged the opposition National Democratic Congress to seek for legal suit against the NPP party and President Nana Addo’s government over what they describes as family and friends government.

The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) presented 50 names of persons which they claimed friends and relatives within the Akufo-Addo government.

But commenting on the outcome of the NDC press conference, the Ashanti regional NPP communication director, Mr Kwasi  stated that, NDC should preferably takes legal action against the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) on what they describe as family and friends instead of seeking cheap publicity to attract the attention of Ghanaians.

He mentioned that, the issues raised at the NDC press conference was bogus, ‘useless’ and waste of time. Adding that, they could have used the huge platform to render the ideas and ideologies of the party, particularly on their campaign manifesto to Ghanaians.

According to the regional communications director, the President Akufo-Addo’s government have not breach any law since his appointments are based on merit and capabilities despite being cronies or relative.

Thus, he provoked the NDC national communication director, Mr Sammy Gyemfi and his party to drag the NPP to the Apex Court, CHRAJ and all the anti-corruption bodies to carry the matter on.

He urged Ghanaians to support the current administration with prayers to fulfil all the promises made during the 2016 general elections campaign.
