  • SHS teachers shoot down John Mahama’s claims of infrastructure in schools

SHS teachers shoot down John Mahama’s claims of infrastructure in schools

Teachers of Senior High Schools in the Ashanti Region under Ashanti Teachers Front (ATF) have discounted claims of massive infrastructural development in the second cycle institutions as claimed by Former President John Dramani Mahama.

They argue that in terms of infrastructure in second cycle institutions in Ghana, the achievements of President Nana Akuffo Addo are unmatched to that of erstwhile National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration under former President John Dramani Mahama

“Nana Akufo-Addo’s achievements far outweigh that of NDC’s eight years”, teachers group in Kumasi; Ashanti Teachers Front (ATF) at a press conference addressed by it Secretary, Mr. Michael Mensah observed.

According to members of ATF, as teachers from select Senior High Schools (SHSs) in the Ashanti Region, having listened to the flagbearer of the opposition NDC, Mr. John Mahama said that he did more than what the current government is doing in terms of infrastructure development and it is necessary for them to set the records straight.

“As teachers located across the length and breadth of this country, we have seen infrastructural developments on in our various places of work,” Mr. Michael Mensah told press men in Kumasi.

He also debunked public knowledge that teachers abseentism under previous administration reduced from 27% to 7% as their check as the Ghana Education Ministry indicate otherwise.

“Whilst the teacher worked for three years and paid him for three months, and expect him to give a maximum best, that was time teacher absenteeism soar up,” the Secretary of ATF disputed Mr. Mahama’s claims of reducing teachers abseentism under his watch.

“…based on the aforementioned facts the former President John Mahama cannot be trusted with Ghana’s education, especially, the most monumental social interventions policy, Free SHS.”

  • Mahama doesn’t have the brains to execute stolen promises – Kennedy Agyapong

Mahama doesn’t have the brains to execute stolen promises – Kennedy Agyapong

Aside allegations of ‘intellectual’ thievery, Member of Parliament for the Assin Central Constituency, Kennedy Agyapong has also accused Flagbearer for the National Democratic Congress  (NDC), John Dramani Mahama of spewing unrealistic promises to the populace under the guise of campaigning.

Mr. Mahama on Monday, September 7, 2020 joined several party executives to unveil the party’s manifesto ahead of the December elections. He among other things, pledged to improve the livelihoods of Ghanaian through job creation and other areas.

Mr. Agyapong however says the NDC’s manifesto is enough evidence for citizens to vote against the party.

According to him, many of the policies projected in the 143-paged document were stolen from the NPP’s manifesto which was launched on August 22. He further suggested that Mr. Mahama lacks the ‘brains’ to be able to implement the policies he is selling to Ghanaians.

Speaking on his ‘The Seat’ show Monday, Kennedy Agyapong said,

“The promises President Mahama is giving, although he stole a lot of things from our manifesto, even the ones left to do, he can’t because he doesn’t have the brains to. He doesn’t have insight. We’ve seen it before and they can’t do it.”

“He says, he will create yearly, up to 250,000 jobs every year. So in 4 years of President Mahama, he’ll create 1m jobs. Under President Akufo-Addo, despite the hardships of COVID, as of the time they were writin the manifesto in June, job creation was 2,55000 thousand in 3 years. How will Ghanaians then sell their rights to an incompetent leader who says, when I come into government, I’ll reduce it by 1,55000 jobs, how?

“..Ghanaians should look back on all the promises they have hammered on, to find out if they have, in previous times, made similar pledges…The manifesto is nowhere near what the NPP presented. Any discerning person can tell the guy was lying through his teeth,” he said.

He urged Ghanaians to weigh the track records of both the NPP and the NDC, and be discerning with their votes.

“They aren’t even ashamed of the thievery. It’s so evident even in the manifesto. What is more interesting, and glaring, why the youth of this country should vote massively against President Mahama.

“And you try to compare yourself to Akufo-Addo’s administration. If you look at the performance of President Akufo-Addo under a pandemic, we have still managed the economy this way, and yet you can come and say it is reckless, God should forgive him.

“What I want Ghanaians to know is that, the good records of the NPP, the only party that can develop this country. They say they are social democrats; they are corrupt criminals,” the legislator added.

  • Mr Mahama, our votes are not correction fluid – Mustapha Hamid

Mr Mahama, our votes are not correction fluid – Mustapha Hamid

Ghana’s December 7, 2020, presidential election is a highly anticipated one as, for the very first time, the race is between a sitting president and a former one.

Both candidates who have proved themselves as good leaders have in recent times taken to the grounds to garner support for themselves through emotional appeals and promises.

The Deputy Campaign Manager of the National People Party (NPP) in charge of Communications (Messaging) Mustafa Abdul-Hamid has used the words of a social media commentator to highlight why candidate Mahama cannot lead Ghana again.

At the NPP press conference held today and monitored by Happy 98.9 FM’s ‘Epa Hoa Daben’ crew, the minister in charge of Inner City and Zongo Development stated, “Mahama says he wants to come back to correct the mistakes he made as president when he messed up big time. Someone gave a response to him and I quote; Mr Mahama our votes are not correction fluids: the fellow added nothing more, I’ll add nothing more.”

According to the politician, President Nana Addo is the obvious choice for the December 7th elections and he asked Ghanaians to judge both candidate Mahama and President Nana Addo based on intentions and added, “Nana intends to offer leadership of service to transform the country for the good of all Ghanaians and this is a notable intention by any standards.”

The Member of Parliament  (MP) furthered that people with good intentions make promises but those with good character keep their promises and held the sitting president up high as the latter. He said, “In 2016 we recorded a plethora of promises and from Nana Addo which were bold and transformative. But these promises were considered as not achievable and all doubters have been proved wrong.”

Mustapha Hamid asked Ghanaians to disregard all promises the National Democratic Congress  (NDC) will make at the manifesto launch this evening as they have a track record of not realizing their promises.

“The Akufo Addo-led administration has done better than the NDC as he (Akufo-Addo) did what the NDC termed impossible” he reiterated.

  • I have a licensed gun to protect myself – Prophet Owusu Bempah

I have a licensed gun to protect myself – Prophet Owusu Bempah

Famous Ghanaian prophet, Rev. Owusu Bempah has emphatically disclosed that he walks around with a loaded firearm ready to defend himself from any attack on his life.

The man of God in an interview at Kingdom Plus on Afrojoint with Fiifi Pratt, when asked why a man of God would carry a firearm to protect himself, said that Jesus Christ did not prohibit his followers from carrying weapons on them.

He added that Jesus himself encouraged his disciples to get more weapons and in that era, a sword was the most commonly used weapon as firearms were not invented.

“Jesus Christ admonished his disciples to get more swords for themselves; so Peter and John had theirs. So when a soldier attempted to arrest Jesus, Peter drew his sword, not to cut the ears of the soldier but his head.

Jesus Christ then urged Peter to put his sword back to his strap, not to throw it away; so this proves that it was a good thing they were armed with swords,” he stated.

Therefore, in place of a sword, he owns a licensed gun which he claimed is fully loaded.

Rev. Owusu Bempah, having said that, disclosed that men of God are mostly the target of many armed robbers or perhaps hitmen.

He, therefore, asserted that it will be wise for a man of God like himself to protect himself from some useless persons from coming to end his life.

  • Ghanaian Times: Policy on reopening of basic schools amid Coronavirus

Ghanaian Times: Policy on reopening of basic schools amid Coronavirus

We reported in yesterday’s issue of the Ghanaian Times an appeal to the government to reconsider the decision not to open all streams of schools in the country.

The appeal, which was made by the Executive Director of Child Rights International (CRI), Mr Bright Appiah, said allowing second-year students in both junior and senior high schools to resume classes, while the rest stayed at home had worse repercussions for children.

In a statement issued in Accra in apparent response to the government’s decision not to reopen basic schools due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Mr Appiah said the social structure that existed among families, the society and the entire nation had not changed to accommodate and provide the needed tuition for children at home.

Additionally, he explained that the corporate environment of the country had not adjusted its time lines to allow families to spend more time with their children at home.

The statement further argued that the media, especially television and social media did not have adequate educational programmes to aid children’s academic growth at home.

“The government, since March 16, closed all schools due to  spread COVID-19 in the country but had since reopened tertiary institutions, senior and junior high schools,” it said.

However, the government has stated categorically that those basic schools would remain closed until further notice.

The decision of the government, we believe, is purely based on science and data and so just as it has been able to do for other segments of the educational ladder, the government would reopen the schools when the time is due.

Do not forget, in July, pre-tertiary teacher unions in Ghana held a press conference in Accra and called on the government to shut down schools due to COVID-19 spread in the schools a few weeks after reopening.

According to the teacher unions then, measures instituted by the authorities to ensure safety of both staff and students had not been implemented to prevent the spread of the disease.

The Ghanaian Times believes that information provided by the teacher unions is very useful and if any consideration is to be made for the reopening of the schools, these are some of the pieces of information which should be taken into account.

We think the government must consider the suggestion from CRI whilst it considers all the necessary protocols before reopening the schools.

We agree with CRI that keeping the schools closed may affect the children’s education in many ways but as we know it now, we are not in normal times and COVID-19 appears to have come to stay and may be with us for a long time.

It is, therefore, in our interest and that of our children to tread cautiously while instituting measures that would prevent the spread of COVID-19  when the schools reopen.

Do not forget the children must be alive to attend school.

  • Victory is Sealed for the NDC- Jane Naana Agyemang

Victory is Sealed for the NDC- Jane Naana Agyemang

Running mate of Mr. John Dramni Mahama, Professor Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang made a historic visit to the Western North Region of Ghana.

The newly created region were indeed privileged to welcome a distinguished personality like Mrs. Professor Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang. The visit which was aimed at sensitizing the people of western North to rally behind the National Democratic Congress, NDC, proved to be a succesful one, as she was accompanied by a huge mob of people, who cried their hearts out for Professor Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang to deliver them from the life of slavitude, that Nana Addo is paying them back with.

As eloquent as ever, Professor Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang tactfully distanced herself from the constant Name calling. Which has been a typical feature of the ruling New Patriotic Party’s campaign.

She pointed out the flawed policies, that has ridiculed the faith that the good people of Ghana bestowed on Nana Addo. Adding that he has paid them back with debt and poverty. It is worth noting that former president John Dramani Mahama has been a vehement critique of this Nana Addo Government. Pointing out clear misuse of taxpayers money and loan debt of over 120bn cedis. Which is being enjoyed only by this family and friends goverment. Other politicians have pointed out the ludacris nature of recruitement especially in the security agencies. An issue that has totally ridiculed the constitution’s mandate that the recruitment of person’s for such should be open and fair and further more based on merit. A lot of Ghanaians have raised eye brows as to how there will be no forms, yet people will be called for training. A classic feature that has persisted during this 3 years, President Akuffo Addo has been in power.

After her speech, Mrs. Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang made a symbol that will be perhaps missed by onlookers. Yet the camera was sharp in capturing it. Mrs. Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang held her hands together.

She was captured with praying hands. Praying hands are a Christian symbol often selected for tattoos as a remembrance to the power of Christ and prayer. The art itself has a deeper meaning. It represents dedication to self and family, courage and sacrifice and respect.

From this alone, Professor Naana Agyeman is displaying the National Democratic Congress acknowledgement of the role of Christ and prayer in the development of Ghana. She is further displaying the power of unity as one family and it is a powerful message to be sent to Ghanaians in this trying times.

She ended her message by asking the question, Name what is bothering you and our goverment will listen and solve it for you. A really powerful conclusion.

See what Nurses were doing to NDC T- shirt – Sad

A photo fast going viral shows a group of nurses stepping on an NDC shirt, having the photo of the former president of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama.

For sometime now, Ghanaian nurses haven’t taken it easy on the former president, ever since he lost previous years elections. During his tenure (President Mahama’s) tenure of office as president, he canceled the nursing trainee allowance, which were being received by these nurses to supplement their incomes in their stay in school. Upon various demonstration et al, the John Dramani Mahama led government still remained adamant in giving them the needed attention.

As a payback, the nurses mobilized themselves to campaign strongly against his government, as they vigorously campaigned on the ticket of the ruling NPP. The current president, Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo promised to reinstate the Nursing Trainee allowance should he be voted for, and indeed he honored his promise. John Mahama in his earlier campaign tours has promised to revise all his mistakes, and continue to take off and continue the good works of Nana Addo.

From the looks of things, these nurses are in no way going to listen to Mahama, as they have paid a keen intererest in the governance of the ruling government.

We have lived with empty stomachs and beg for food for the past 4 years- Socrate Safo to Akuffo Addo

Ghanaian filmmaker and director for Creative Arts at the National Commission on Culture (NCC) Socrate Safo has bitterly revealed that most of the members who supported president Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo-Addo and NPP’s Creative arts agenda have lived with empty stomachs and beg friends for food for the past 4 years.

”We can’t come and sit here on empty stomachs for four years and go beg friends for food afterwards only for some people to sit at certain places and want to be hailed, sometimes we even struggle to get information”, Socrate Safo stated.

Speaking as a panel member on Okay FM as monitored by Journalist and Blogger Attractive Mustapha Nii Okai Inusah, he said that anyone listening and closer to president Akufo-Addo should tell the president that some of them are getting tired and frustrated.

As the Chairman of the Film Classification Committee of the National Film Authority, Socrates Safo explained that even though they promised to start the operation of the classification of video contents somewhere July, it has never been possible because of the NFA.

‘’What I’m supposed to do as the committee chairman per what the law says I have done it, the rest of the job that the NFA has to do is what is left, so if the NFA is not doing what they are supposed to do there is nothing the classification committee can do‘’.

‘’If somebody is listening they should tell the president that some of us are getting tired, the frustration is too much, we have been quiet for far too long and some people think when you are quite you are stupid’’.

’We voted for a party and the president is doing his possible best but there are people who don’t understand why they are even in office and value what they are assigned to do, somebody should tell the president‘’

John Mahama Can Never become President of Ghana Again because of what the Lady has done to him- Kennedy Agyapong

A Ghanaian politician and businessman who represents Assin Central in parliament for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has disclosed that Ghanaians should be very careful with this NDC and their lies as they have nothing to offer because His Ex. the late Atta Mills, who was presumed to be peace-maker even lied through his teeth and could not delivered.

To him, the late president Atta Mills in his 2008 campaign promised Ghanaians to reduced things drastically including electricity bills, water bills and to make national health insurance scheme one term premium but couldn’t fulfilled and even increased the utility bills, when he was elected as a president.

Speaking on Wontumi FM/TV “Ammamuo Mu Nsem”, Hon. Kennedy Agyapong revealed that the best gift anybody can give to you on earth is education. So if today, the poor and the rich are able access equal free education, as a parent, you can invest your money into your businesses.

    Talking about Tracey Boakye and Gloria Kani “Papa no” trending issues, Hon. Kennedy Agyapong said that;

“They are small flies and where the world is heading towards to, we don’t need to discuss about them at all because, John Mahama was very cheap that’s why he fell for those cheap girls. So we don’t need to discuss them but rather discuss serious issues.

The harm has already been done and John Dramani Mahama can never become a president again for what the girl has done to him, yeah he won’t!. The girl has done serious damage to president Mahama and what I thought was that, the ladies should be very careful because if someone has really helped you and you have totally disgraced him forever and ever, I think it is not proper at all.” He added.
