  • I will never Prosecute any of my appointees on the basis of frivolous allegations- Akuffo Addo

I will never Prosecute any of my appointees on the basis of frivolous allegations- Akuffo Addo

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has revealed that he will never prosecute any member of his government who has been accused of corruption on the basis of mere allegations that lack evidence or substance.

“All the allegations levelled against an appointee of my government have not gone without consequence, there have been investigated. If at the end of the investigation it is found that the allegation was just an allegation and there was no substance to it, I’m not going to prosecute people on the basis of mere allegations.” He revealed in an interview monitored by Mynewsgh.

One of the critical issues that comes up in the lead up to every election is corruption and since the inception of the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo led administration in 2017, there have been several corruption scandals and allegations levelled against his appointees.

He continued “I think that the fight against corruption that I have spearheaded is multifaceted. There are some to do with behaviour, others to do with institutional empowerment, you have the prosecutorial aspect of it and then you have off course sensitization.”

Speaking on Cape Coast-based ATL FM, the President who is also the Flagbearer for the New Patriotic Party(NPP) for the 2020 general elections, said people snare whenever he says he’s vigorously fighting corruption.

“Every time, I want to underline this, I know people like to take snare at it but it’s important that every time any allegation have been made against an appointee of mine I’ve got that allegation investigated whether by parliament, CHRAJ or the police,” he added.

  • Nana Akuffo Addo Didn’t Inform Ghanaians About the Two Deaths During Registration Exercise- Aseidu Nketia

Nana Akuffo Addo Didn’t Inform Ghanaians About the Two Deaths During Registration Exercise- Aseidu Nketia

The General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is accusing President Nana Akufo-Addo of being ‘hypocritical’ about the violent incidents during the voters’ registration exercise.

Johnson Asiedu Nketia said the President’s decision not to comment about the pockets of violence at some polling stations in NDC strongholds smacks of double-standards.

“His Excellency has made several attempts to commend the peaceful nature of the registration exercise without mentioning a single act of violence during the exercise, including that which was perpetrated by his own appointee, which led to the killing of two innocent Ghanaians,” Mr Nketia said at a press conference, Thursday.

Had also accused the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) of plotting to disenfranchise people in the Volta region.

Mr Nketiah, popularly known as General Mosquito, explained that the President’s tour of the region presented an opportunity for him to “apologise for his unwarranted ethnic discrimination against the Voltarians.”

This chance, he said, was squandered by President Akufo-Addo by “claiming ignorance of all the bad things above and stated rather that he has no evil agenda against the Voltarians.”

The NDC, however, called on all Ghanaians to continue in the pursuit of justice for Silas Chameh who was stabbed at Banda Kabrono during the just-ended voters’ registration exercise.

“The NDC will like to appeal to all peace-loving Ghanaians to join the fight for justice for innocent Silas Wulo Chameh who was brutally murdered by the NPP hoodlums,” General Mosquito said.

Political clashes at Banda Ahenkroh on July 13, 2020, between the NDC and NPP over the exercise could not be controlled, escalating into gunshots, burning of cars, and roadblocks.

I Survived On Water Mixed With Human Waste As I Made My Deadly Trip to Libya’- 24-year Old Lady Recounts Sad Story

A Nigerian woman has painted a gloomy picture about the famous Libya trips by revealing how she survived on faeces when she also embarked on that tortuous trip.  The 24-year old lady identified as Omolara Akintayo narrated her sordid ordeal in a new video making rounds on the internet.

According to Omolara, while they were in the desert, some people lost their lives while others were forced to drink water mixed with faeces as there was no clean water and food. Omolara said two of her friends were raped in the desert during their trip to Libya.

She said: “Many things happened on our way. If I had heard about them before leaving Nigeria, I wouldn’t have travelled to Libya. Terrible things would have happened to those of us who survived if not for God.

When we got to Libya, I paid the person who took me there N600,000 in one year. This person was collecting my salary every month while I was doing all the work. I couldn’t eat there because I could not eat the food there.

Sometimes I would sleep by 2 am or 3 am because we had to wash plate in the Arab’s house. Sometimes we would wash their faeces, dress the elderly ones. There was nothing we did not do. Chores that I couldn’t do for my parents, I did them while I was there.”

Firebeand of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kennedy Agypong has returned once again to throw his trademark brash persona in our face by alleging that former President John Dramani Mahama inflated the cost the Kasoa Interchange for personal gains.

According to the controversial Ghanaian lawmaker, the leader of the opposition National Democratic Congress used the money to buy 350 land cruisers to bribe some Chiefs in Ghana ahead of the last elections in Ghana.

“They used the extra money from the inflated contract sum to buy 350 land cruisers and shared it amongst the Chiefs to deceive them for votes. We don’t need people like that who only think about what they will eat and not the destiny of future unborn generations,” he alleged on Kingdom FM.

Continuing, he said: “The Kasoa interchange alone built by the NDC cost us $270M but the auxiliary roads and hospitals they much talked about didn’t happen as promised. One of the contractors revealed to me that he was tasked by the NDC to inflate the cost of the Kasoa interchange over $40M.”

We Are Ready to Leave Ghana’ – Nigerian Traders Finally Agree

The impasse between Ghanaian traders and their counterparts From Nigeria is gradually reaching a consensus after the Nigerian traders agreed to leave the country. This new development was contained in a new statement issued by the Nigerian Union of Traders Association Ghana (NUTAG).

“The truth of the matter is, to the best of my knowledge, even the Ghanaian authority, our authority and ECOWAS Parliament and ECOWAS Commission and on most occasions, the GIPC is not meant for ECOWAS.  It is for other nationals. And me personally I stand on that, either Ghana government or ECOWAS make it clear to us that yes if you are a  Nigerian you must abide with the GIPC law or else leave the country, then I will be the first person to leave because I don’t have 1 million dollars”. Chief Chukwuemeka Nanji President of NUTAG has said on GBC radio programme Behind the News.

Ghanaian traders have been complaining bitterly about how Nigerian traders have taken over the market and dealing in wholesale and retail sales which is against the laws of the country.

The Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC) law says; ‘A person who is not a citizen or an enterprise which is not wholly-owned by a citizen, shall not invest or participate in the sale of goods or provision of services in a market, petty trading or hawking or selling of goods in a stall at any place’.

This is led to the closure of shops which led to led to a frosty relationship between the two countries but fortunately Ghana’s Speakers of Parliament Reverend Prof Aaron Mike Oquaye and his Nigerian counterpart, Olufemi Gbajabiamila, held talks in Accra to find solutions to the challenges.

Is This Not A SCAM?- Watch Pastor Seriously Praying For A Fat Woman to Lose Weight

Another layer of buffoonery has been added to Christianity after a pastor is seen in a viral video praying fervently for an obese woman to lose weight.

Although such gimmicks are common in Christendom which has compromised the credibility of Christianity, this one here is utterly ridiculous, to say the least.  Instead of telling the woman to go to the gym and adopt a healthy lifestyle, this pastor whose identity we are to establish rather prays endlessly for the obesity to varnish by divine intervention.

Well, watch the ridiculous video as the pastor and his junior pastors gather around the woman and pray for her to lose weight.

The first batch of international commercial passengers arrived at the Kotoka International Airport on Tuesday, September 1, 2020.

The airport was closed in March in the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic, but was officially reopened to international traffic yesterday.

“We are residents of Ghana but have had to stay out for this long because of border closures. So it is great news that we are coming back,” a passenger who arrived on Tuesday is quoted as saying by Citinewsroom.

“We have subjected ourselves to immigration and port health officials for the necessary protocols. We were tested before we came but we are still going to quarantine.”

Meanwhile, the Managing Director of Ghana Airport Company Limited, Yaw Kwakwa, has played down fears that the airport could get overwhelmed with passengers.

He explained that passengers will not be held up for long at the airport, insisting 480 tests can be done within just 15 minutes.

NDC manifesto will be based on truth and transformation – Sammy Gyamfi

According to the Communications Officer of the party, Sammy Gyamfi, the NDC will next week provide a much comprehensive manifesto filled with promises it intends to keep.

Speaking in an interview with GhanaWeb on Tuesday, September 1, the communications officer said; “Our manifesto will be one that will create jobs and opportunity for all and not a select few.”

“This is a manifesto filled with well thought out and truthful policies and programmes that will be delivered by the former President Mahama and supported by his running mate, Prof. Jane Opoku-Agyeman when elected. So, we the [NDC] are not going to tell lies to the people of this country or make promises we don’t intend to keep,” he said.

Meanwhile, the flagbearer of the NDC John Dramani Mahama already disclosed some of the policies his party intends to implement if elected in the upcoming Decmember polls.

One of them is the provision of free primary health care to all and the ‘Big Push’ infrastructural initiative which will earmark some US$10 billion seeking to create about one million jobs and employ some 250,000 Ghanaians within four years.
