As you might all know, it’s somewhat a ‘crime’ to walk on lawns. It’s always advised that we use walk-ways rather than walking on lawns since it can cause stunt growth in grasses and can also destroy their beauty.
So this young man refused to pay heed to this law but rather chose to walk on the grass at the market centre. He was spotted by a military personnel who punished him to water the green grass using sachet water with all the full cost covered by himself. In the photo below, you can see the young man packing the sachet water he has used so far in watering the grass.
Kumawood actor, Stephen Atanga has said politicians in Ghana care more about their name and fame than the welfare of the people in the country.
Don Little
Speaking to Joy News’ Becky on E with becks, the actor popularly called Don Little stated, the politicians have failed in helping the country to grow even after being in charge of the country’s finances.
“We have people suffering but they (politicians) don’t help them but if someone is cut with a knife, they’ll rush to go, pledge and say ‘I’ll give this or that’. This is very bad,” he said.
Don Little added, “they only want the name and fame.”
He said the politicians can do more for people especially orphans and homeless people.
“The politicians have been driving through the streets and they see the street girls and boys who don’t have parents, they have to help these people,” he said.
Don Little said there are many resources and money available for the politicians to use in helping the people however, “they [politicians] always think about themselves and their family.”
“They’re supposed to help the country so that it will grow but they don’t help,” he added.
The actor pleaded with leaders of the state to help the citizens saying that “Ghana will do well if they do.”
Chief Executive Officer of GCB Bank, Raymond Sowah
GCB Bank has terminated the contracts of 56 ex-staff of defunct UT and Capital Banks for not possessing the minimum qualification required to work with the bank. The termination of their contracts was done after an audit of employees of the defunct banks exposed issues with the minimum qualification of about 160 staff.
The affected staff have since been issued with “termination of appointment” letters signed by the Head of Human Resources, I. Kojo Essel Junior.
One of the letters, dated February 12, 2019 said, “We wish to advise that with immediate effect, your services to the Bank will no longer be required.
“You will be paid an equivalent of one month’s basic salary in lieu of notice in line with section 29 (a) of our Collective Agreement and other benefits you may be entitled to per your contract of employment (less any indebtedness to the Bank).
“You are to hand over any company property that may be in your possession including but not limited to documents, manuals, computer/laptop, mobile phone, ID card, name tag, electronic access card and keys to your line manager/supervisor before your final departure.
“Per a copy of this letter, the Chief Information Officer has been advised to block your access to the Bank’s system and network.”
Although the letter did not state the reasons for which the appointments were terminated, sources at the bank told Graphic Online that the affected persons, even though produced university degrees in applying for their jobs, they did not pass Mathematics and English, and were given time enough to submit official school results to justify their emplyment, in keeping with GCB Bank employment policy.
“Some produced the required results and are still at post, others, unfortunately, even upon reminders, failed to provide the required certificates. If they have the required response yet refuse to comply, I’m afraid they’re the only ones to help themselves,” said a source close to the Bank’s management.
But Spokesperson for the ex-UT and Capital Banks workers, Raymond Addai Danquah, has described the move by the bank as inhumane.
“For me, it is rather unfortunate that this should happen to these colleagues of ours. The fact that somebody had D or E in one of those core subjects and you use that as a basis to terminate the persons appointment, this is inhumane and it is about time GCB reinstates these people.”
“How about those who have gone further to do their masters? Are we saying the point of entry into GCB is SSCE?” he quipped in an interview on Accra-based Citi FM.
While the likes of Obinim, Obofuor, Opambour and other supposedly ‘men of God’ are using ‘anointing’ oils, ‘holy’ water, shea butter, stickers– just to mention few, to perform miracles in their respective churches, a pastor is giving alcohol to people who are in search of healing.
In viral photos sighted by dikodercom on social media, the founder and pastor of Hill Ministries Church is seen giving Russian Vodka, which is known for its high percentage of alcohol to his church members as a directive from the ‘Holy Spirit’
According to the Zambian Pastor Who is identified as Uriah Maseko, the Holy Spirit ordered him to use vodka to minister healing and deliverance to the sick and those who needed deliverance.
Report says he invited people with HIV to drink the vodka and be healed during Church Service
“God uses different methods to perform miracles. “Nothing, including healing, is impossible for God. “I’m not the one who heals. I was led by the spirit to use alcohol,” Comments from Pastor Uriah
Meanwhile in Zambianobserver report sighted by dikoder.com, Zambian CRL Rights Commission chairwoman Thoko Mkhwanazi-Xaluva warned religious leaders to urgently find a way to stop pastors’ bad behaviour.
She was speaking at Rhema Bible Church in Randburg, north of Joburg during a religious summit. The summit aimed to find a framework for good governance in the religious sector to ensure leaders were held accountable for malpractice.
February 14th was called “Lupercalla”
Or “day of the wolf”
This was a day that was sacred to the sexual frenzy of the goddess Juno.
This day also honoured the Roman gods, Lupercus and Faunus, as well as the legendary twin brothers, who supposedly founded Rome, REMUS AND ROMULUS
Lupercous= hunter of wolves
The Romans called the festival the “lupercalia.”The custom of exchanging valentines and all the other traditions in honour of Lupercus who was also linked with an ancient pagan practice of teen-agers “going steady” it usually led to fornication.
The day of Lupercalia
On this day, the Luperci or priests of Lupercus dressed in goat skins for a bloody ceremony. The wolf god would sacrifice goats and a dog and then smear themselves with blood; he would run around a hill while waving a goat skin called “februa.” from where we get the name February. Women would sit around the hill, as the priest would strike them with a goat skin to make them fertile.
Love notes
All the young women in the city would gather in the city and their names were put in the boxes. These “love notes” were called billets. The men of Rome would draw a billet, and the woman whose name was on the billet became his sexual lust partner with whom he would fornicate until the next Lupercalia or February 14th.
The colour red
The colour red as sacred to that day because of the blood from the goat and dog and the heart shape was not after the human heart but represents the human matrix or opening to the chamber of sacred copulation.
St Valentine’s Day
Saint valentine’s was an obscure, possibly legendary, martyr who by tradition was put to death by the Romans on February 14th,about AD 269.this day was made a feast day by the Roman Catholic Church. The day of his death coincided with that of the Roman feast of the Lupercalia….the celebration of the two merged.
So Valentine’s Day is nothing but a continuation of the Lupercalia.
On this day millions of young people are loosing their virginity because of this day. For many, it’s ok to have sexual intercourse just because it is Valentine.
Make the right choice and stay away from this wickedness. For many it is a day to make business. All the shops will during this week be clad in RED. Stay away from this frenzy

The Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) yesterday January 29, embarked on a mission to sack all traders who sells on the street of Korle Gonno,a place called Tuesday Market in the Ablekuma South municipality.
According to the AMA the traders makes the place dirty and clumsy due to their selling activities. The AMA said the activities of the traders does not help in the realization of law and order in the area, since there exist a market structure where traders are expected to sell there not on the streets.
The Assembly insisted that no one will be allowed to sell on the streets , because after they have sold their goods , proper cleaning exercise is not done, thereby bringing dirts. This, the Assembly believes contradict President Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo’s vision of making Accra the cleanest city in West Africa.
Public Relations Officer of AMA, Mr. Gilbert Amankwaah told dikoder.com in an interview that when the traders were being sackeed to maintain the market , Ghana can not develop when people take the laws in their own hands. ” There are people who are even sleeping here in the market. It is not about the fact that the Assembly wants to clear people. We have to be responsible, if we want progress we must change. All the shelves in the market are empty and no one is selling there. This time we are not leaving no stone unturn. We insist that the street is not a place to sell,” he noted.
However, an aggrieved trader appealed that the President should intervene. “We dont dont sell here always,we sell only on Tuesdays, it means the whole month we sell here only four times.I do not know where the directive is coming from, during kuffour time they sacked us, but during the reign of Atta Mills and John Mahama they allowed us to sell here, now is the turn of Akuffo Addo and we are being sacked again. I am begging the president Nana Akuffo Addo and the Mayor to have mercy on us. Most of us selling are bread -winners to our families , What do you expect us to to when you vacate us from this place . God will ask you ” the woman asserted.
Women, since the period of recorded history have played significant roles in human development across the globe as individuals, members of families, and communities. Examples of women performing in leadership positions with distinction abound and are ready to be cited in subsequent publications.
These include roles in governance traditionally referred as chieftaincy in Africa. If chieftaincy has succeeded in building peaceful and prosperous nations in Africa, the credit must be largely due to contributions made by Queen mothers.
The Queen mother wisely employs her power, a veto power as it were, vested in her as the head of a matrilineal clan to approve or disapprove a candidate as the new king. This is when the council of kingmakers have nominated and presented a choice candidate.
History mentions powerful and successful female leaders such as Aminatu, the warrior Queen of Zaira in Nigeria who ruled for 34 years in the 15th century. It was under her leadership that, the great Hausa trade routes in West Africa were created.
Ethiopia enjoyed and benefited from the able leadership of Makeda, the Queen of Sheba so much that, Ethiopia was second to Egypt as far as economic importance and political power was concern in that era.
Egypt itself enjoyed good fame and prosperity under Cleopatra and Nerfetiti, the queen of Kemet. She was responsible for uniting lower kemet and upper kemet to form a united Egypt that we have today .
I cannot finish this piece without the mention of the Ashanti kingdom in present day Ghana. When the British boasted and intimidated the men, and audaciously demanded the golden stool, it took the brave heart of a woman, Yaa Asantewaa to lead the army as the commander- in -chief against the British army.
Yaa Asantewaa brought hope, inspiration, motivation and courage to a nation under the siege of foreign occupier. I believe the present day Ghana needs a female leader to bring back the lost hope , the lost glory, the lost morale to fix a broken economy, and inspire patriotism.
The men have disappointed our nation. They have failed us.
President Akuffo Addo said and I quote “We have the MEN” I wish he had said we have the women, we wouldn’t be seeing a replication of President Mahama’s non-performing government. The men have failed!!
Ghana needs a female warrior to fight corruption, a female commander in chief to stabilize our currency and lead the economic army to victory.
Popular Ghanaian Investigative Journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas has received what looks more of an advice from popular musician and social commentator A Plus over issues pertaining to the death of Anas’ colleague Ahmed Suale who worked with the Tiger Eye Pi Team.
In a Facebook post, the controversial Musician advised Anas to beware of his actions especially with reports pertaining to the death of his colleague journalist which has dominated headlines and sparked conversations on social media. According to A Plus, Ghanaian are getting smart by day and can’t be fooled by anyone.
“The way you think you are smart in investigating corruption, kindly accept that Ghanaians these days are also very smart and probe deeply into issues. Nobody can fool Ghanaians these days. The questions people are asking are;
1. What time did you hear of Ahmed’s death? 2. What time did you find the video, edit it; add text and some “conscious music bi” and released it? 3. You are a lawyer. Which lawyer draws conclusions in the murder of someone before investigations begin?
What you did, in my opinion as someone who watches ID extra 24/7 looks more of a planned thing against Kennedy Agyapong. Some may blame him for unmasking Ahmed. But you also had to take your time and allow detectives to do their job. You have destroyed the whole process. You have yourself to blame. What majority of the people are saying is that you just wanted the public on your side in pointing accusing fingers at Hon. Ken to divert attention from the real killers. Go online and read comments for yourself.
Also, you are acting untouchable which makes some people angry. The fact that you fight corruption does not make you uncomfortable. Anybody can also fight or accuse you of anything. All you can do is to sue the person in court.
As for me, I think you are doing a great job. However, if it is true that your investigations have turned into a commercial venture where people contract you to set people up for a fee, then you are not working for Ghana. You are working for your stomach. Private investigations is not a crime but if it is for financial gains, it comes with consequences you must be prepared for….”

The
Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Dr. Ernest Addison, has refuted claims that the
central bank unfairly revoked the license of Heritage Bank.
Heritage Bank lost its license after the
Bank of Ghana completed its banking sector reforms in December 2018.
The majority shareholder of the bank, Seidu Agongo, recently in
a statement accused the Bank of Ghana of unfairly revoking its license on
grounds that he as a major shareholder, was not “proper and fit” to own a bank.
Mr. Agongo also refuted assertions that Heritage Bank was set up
with suspicious capital. Seidu Agongo is currently in court over a case
involving a contract he received from COCOBOD suspected to have been used to
set up Heritage Bank.
Dr. Addison maintains that the Bank of Ghana used all the
required rules under the Banking Act and was also transparent in revoking the
license.
“I don’t think there are any issues with Heritage bank. The Bank
of Ghana explained the decision it took in the press statement. We were
transparent and acted within the law,” he said
Background
After Heritage Bank’s license was revoked due to a suspicious stated capital
according to the BoG, as well as their inability to meet the new GHc400 million
minimum capital requirement, the Governor also said that, the involvement of
Mr. Agongo in the ongoing trial over alleged fraud in a Cocobod fertilizer
contract, meant he was unfit to hold a banking license.
The bank was absorbed by Consolidate Bank Ghana Limited, joining six other banks as part of reforms in the banking sector.
But Seidu Agongo accused Dr. Ernest Addison, of acting in bad faith when he described him as not being fit and proper enough to be a significant shareholder of the bank.
Mr. Agongo said the BoG Governor’s assertions were not backed by
facts.
“As at the time of this statement, as was at the time of the
Governor’s press conference, there had been no determination either by the High
Court nor any other authority for that matter, that the funds derived from
contracts with Cocobod are in any manner or form illegal or criminal warranting
my characterization by the Central Bank as not fit and proper.”
BoG
has done a ‘grave injustice’ to Heritage Bank by revoking its license – Former
directors
Former Board of Directors of now-defunct Heritage Bank Limited had earlier lamented claims by the Bank of Ghana (BoG) for the revocation of the license.
In a statement sighted by citinewsroom.com,
the former directors of Heritage Bank said the claims by the Central Bank were
either “completely false or inaccurate”.
According to them, the central bank failed to adequately provide
them with the necessary assistance, adding that the action by the BoG is “a
terrible precedent that does not bode well for the future.”
An
Economist, Professor Eric Osei Assibey has suggested that the government’s debt
re-profiling could be having a positive impact on reducing the country’s debts.
According to him, some interim improvements within the economy
could have a greater impact if the plan is sustained.
Professor Assibey’s comments come on the back of a recent Bank
of Ghana data which shows that the country’s debt reached 172.9 billion cedis
as at November 2018.
“That Treasury Bill rates fell from about 17.5% two years ago to
about 13%. Because that reduces government’s liquidity burden, roll over
maturing debts and the government having to borrow to settle short term debts.”
“The seven and ten year bonds have much higher interests or
yields than the short term bonds and that is good for the government because
then the investors tend to be attracted to yields with a higher interest
particularly where inflation is expected to fall.”
The data from the central bank showed that the debt of 172.9
billion cedis also represents 57.9 percent of the total value of all goods and
services produced within the country for last year.
An analysis of the figures by the central bank shows that the
figure has been increasing by every month.
For instance, as at February last year, the debt stood at 146.7
billion cedis which rose gradually to reach the 172.9 billion cedis.
Though the government has on several instances borrowed or
announced intentions to borrow, it has always maintained that the monies were
to retire maturing debts and extend shorter term ones.
Meanwhile for the first quarter of this year, the government
intends to borrow to the tune of 11.25 billion cedis.
Of this, 10.14 billion cedis is expected to be used to roll over
maturing debts while the remaining 1.1 billion cedis will be channeled into
meeting the government’s financing requirements and buffer for the period.
