JOHN MAHAMA IS THE PROPRIETOR OF “CORRUPTION INSTITUTE OF GHANA”; WE’LL MAKE HIM CRY LIKE SIX MONTHS BABY COME 2024 GENERAL ELECTION-NPPYO TO MAHAMA.

The Firebrand New Patriotic Party Youth Organization(NPPYO) has chastised former President John Mahama over his accusations of corruption against the Akuffo Addo administration.

NPPYO has heavily descended on Mahama addressing him as proprietor of ” Corruption Institute of Ghana”(CIG) that rocked him down in the 2016 and 2020 general elections.

NPPYO indicated that Mr.Mahama has no moral justification to talk about corruption, let alone accuse the ruling party of the canker. Naming some alleged corrupt deals under the Mahama administration, NPPYO stated that these deals defined that administration.

“Is Mahama, of Government Official one infancy and the Ford vehicle from Kanazoe contractors, talking about corruption? Is that the same Mahama had these corruption scandals during his tenure of office; Judicial scandal, Alfred Woyome saga, Airbus scandal, Armajaro scandal, Saglemi housing scandal, Bus branding scandal, Gyeeda scandal, SADA scandal, NSS scandal, Brazil 2014 fiasco, and a lot of scandals can’t mention during his era talking about corruption?

Mr. Mahama should immediately come out and apologize to Ghanaians if not we will make him cry like six months baby come 2024.” John Mahama proved to be so corrupt that during his first as vice president, his boss late president Mills had cause to set up a committee to investigate the role played by him in the process leading to the acquisition of five aircraft, including Embraer 190 Aircraft and a hanger for the Ghana Armed forces”, NPPYO added.

Finally, NPPYO slams NDC for not to dare to talk about corruption matters again if not we will show the red cards to them.

ELEMENTS WITHIN SUNYANI MUNICIPAL HOSPITAL SABOTAGING PRESIDENT AKUFO-ADDO’S GOVERNMENT

“Concerned NPP Supporters Bono Region” has noted images and video in circulation in the social media insinuating that President Akufo-Addo on his recent tour to the Bono Region commissioned an uncompleted Maternity Block at the Sunyani Municipal Hospital.

The propaganda images and video are being circulated by crisis merchants and mischief-makers who are notably NDC rented media and NDC communicators.

We have reasonably caused to believe that there are elements within the Sunyani Municipal Hospital hierarchy who are determined to do acts to undermine the New Patriotic Party’s government in the hope of achieving their hidden agenda which is to cause the defeat of NPP in election 2024.

    We wish to state that there is no iota of truth in the images and video in circulation and therefore wish to set the records straight as follows;

EU to return ‘Made in Africa’ Johnson & Johnson vaccine doses to Africa SEE ALSO: EU to return ‘Made in Africa’ Johnson & Johnson vaccine doses to Africa

●President Akufo-Addo on 11th August 2021, as part of his two days working visit to the Bono Region, commissioned a newly constructed Maternity and Mental Health Block at the Sunyani Government Hospital together with the Bono Regional Headquarters of the Fire Service and the Administration Block for the 3rd Battalion Infantry Base in Sunyani.

●At the time of the commissioning, the project was completed, a fact the hospital authority has alluded to in a press release issued and signed by same.

●Some days after the commissioning of the Maternity and Mental health block, the management of the facility decided to enhance it with their own specifications.

●Firstly, Partition the corridor leading to the theatre and recovery with a swing glass door.

●Secondly, Change the doors to the theatre and recovery with a swing glass door

●Lastly to Create a triage area at the reception.

    CONCERNED NPP SUPPORTERS BONO REGION

It was during this period, that some rented Press and some NDC communicators got access to the facility and took pictures and made live videos on Facebook and other social media outlets.

The manner in which these individuals had access to the facility and went live on Facebook gives rise to suspicions that, the act is nothing but some form of organised and well-orchestrated sabotage by some officials within the hospital purposely to cause disaffection for the government and ultimately bring about the defeat of New Patriotic Party in the next general elections.

While we appeal to the relevant authorities to fish out the miscreant’s officials and sanction them appropriately, we also inform the general public to disregard these fake stories and treat it with the contempt it merits.

Dr Kwabena Duffuor, a former finance minister, says Ghana, a country well endowed with massive natural resources is in crisis.

He explained that, despite all the natural resources, political leaders have failed to exploit them to the benefit of Ghanaians.

The former governor of the Bank of Ghana (BoG) made this observation during a forum organized by the Institute for Financial Services, Ghana (IFS).

Dr. Duffuor, however, charged the Akufo-Addo led government to ensure that there is a change in the current narrative of the status of the country else, future generations will suffer and also will not forgive the leaders.

“The narrative should change immediately, otherwise our children will not forgive us. Our natural resources endowment can change this country if we decide to use them efficiently, and honestly, we are not doing that,” he stressed.

“We cannot disagree that Ghana is a very wealthy nation but Ghanaians are poor, that’s where the problem is. Why are we poor but we are sitting on wealth, so what do we do?” he quizzed.

The owner of the defunct UniBank further charged the clergy and other stakeholders to change the narrative and put Ghana on the path of prosperity, so that Ghanaians can reap the benefits of the natural resources.

“So, the clergy, what are you doing? The media, what are you doing? Ghana is in crisis,” Dr. Duffuor observed.

According to him, the President of Ghana at the beginning of his tenure of office had the vision to uplift the country in terms of industrialization and development but so far there is nothing to show with growing tales of mismanagement.

He then added that he wishes the President of Ghana could rebuild himself to becoming the enhanced President the country needs. Professor Patrick Lumumba also bemoaned the spectacle of the parliament of Ghana seeking the approval of payment for the presidential spouse.

He further stated that the demonstration by the Ghanaian youth on the street of Accra, the capital city of Ghana evidently shows the frustration of voters and how tough life is becoming under the leadership of the Akufor Addo administration.

He said, the president still has the intellectual fire powers of leadership but things haven’t been the way he rumored would go for him.

In the course of the interview, Professor Lumumba’s opinion was asked whether the short-term implementation of the ECO currency is sustainable. “I believe the year duration of 3 to 4 years is short for the implementation of the new currency which will be used by the whole African continent.

According to him, a maximum of 10 years should be used to implement the ECO currency due to the difference in economic conditions within various African countries to deal with their micro and macro-economic issues”. He added. He stated that this was the vision of the First President and the founder of Ghana, Dr Kwame Nkrumah.

He said he held the view that it was far overdue for such steps to be taken and believed it will become one of the strong currencies in the world.

The Pan-Africanist PLO Lumumba also lamented on seeing the Africa he loves with his heart having a continent that will be free from corruption. He further stated that in the course of fighting corruption, deliberate actions must be taken to combat corruption by making an example of those who participate in it.

Loch Otieno Lumumba stressed the need to keep corrupt people out of office and harped on the need to strip public officials of any ill-gotten wealth while in the exercise of their duties.

The main opposition NDC has vowed to prosecute Minister for Fisheries and Aquaculture, Hawa Koomson should the NDC return to power by 2025.

A statement issued by the National Youth Organiser of the party, George Opare Addo threatened to reopen her case, investigate her and let her face the full rigours of the law.

This comes after the Minister’s revelation in a recent interview that the criminal case against her for firing, gunshots in a public place without lawful authority has allegedly been dropped by the Police CID for want of evidence.

But the NDC youth wing contends the Minister cannot escape the law under the next NDC government.

Hawa Koomson “We also want to assure all Ghanaians that crime has no expiration date and come 2025 when the new NDC takes over the governance of our beloved country all those committing crimes against innocent Ghanaians will be properly investigated and everyone found culpable will be prosecuted.”

The Minister for Fisheries Mavis Hawa Koomson during her vetting reiterated that the gun she used in the infamous gun shooting incident at Kasoa during the voter’s registration exercise was registered.

She claimed although her action on that day was regrettable, she fired the warning shot in defence after feeling threatened while touring registration centres at Kasoa.

A Vice President of Policy Think Thank IMANI Africa Kofi Bentil has hailed the ingenuity of the Vice President of Ghana Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the arbitration won by the Bank Of Ghana against Sitbon.

The Bank of Ghana has won an arbitration brought against it by Sibton Switch Systems Limited (“Sibton Switch”) in relation to the termination of the Master Agreement for the Ghana Retail Payment Systems Infrastructure in 2017.

This follows a ruling by a Tribunal constituted under the auspices of the London International Court of Arbitration (LCIA).

On 28th July 2021, a panel of three distinguished arbitrators issued an award in favour of the Bank of Ghana in the LCIA arbitration, dismissing all the claims brought by Sibton Switch Systems Limited.

    Bawumia

SEE ALSO: Dr. Bawumia & NPP Government Never Promise Free Cars to Okada Riders in 2020

The claims were dismissed due to the failure by Sibton Switch Systems Limited to comply with the orders of the Tribunal including an earlier interim award made by the Tribunal on 25th of June 2019 in favour of the Bank of Ghana, which required Sibton Switch to make an interim award payment for the security of costs.

The final award also orders Sibton Switch Systems Limited to pay to the Bank of Ghana in full, the costs of the arbitration, in respect of the Bank of Ghana’s legal fees.

Reacting to the victory won by the Bank of Ghana, Kofi Bentil hailed the Vice President for his role in saving Ghana millions of taxpayer’s monies which were going to some undeserving pockets.

He said in a post shared on Facebook that “Sibton Switch victory is proof that Dr. Bawumia is a gem. He saved us millions of dollars”.

    Background

On the 9th of April 2018, Sibton Switch filed a Request for Arbitration with the LCIA against the Bank of Ghana for breaching the Master Agreement for the Ghana Retail Payment Systems Infrastructure entered into by the two parties.

Following the 2016 elections and on the appointment of a new Management of the Bank of Ghana, it became necessary to review the terms of the contract entered into by the previous administration.

In reviewing the contract, the new Management of the Central reached the conclusion that Sibton had neither acquired the license nor fulfilled the condition precedent for the effectiveness of the rights and obligations of the parties.

The agreement, which dealt with the grant of exclusive rights to Sibton Switch to build, operate and own the Ghana Retail Payment Systems Infrastructure was therefore terminated on the basis that it never came into effect.

The claimant, Sibton Switch, therefore went to the LCIA seeking relief in the sum of $478 million from the respondent, Bank of Ghana.

Chief Imam gives GHS50, 000 for the construction of the National Cathedral

The National Chief, Imam Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, on Thursday, 26 August 2021, made a contribution of GHS50, 000 for the construction of the National Cathedral.

The cathedral is President Nana Akufo-Addo’s promise to God after he was elected President in the 2016 election.

The national chief imam made the donation when the board of trustees for the National Cathedral project paid a courtesy call on him at his office in Accra.

The spokesperson for the Chief Imam, Sheikh Aremeyaw Shuaibu in a Citi News interview said the gesture was to further deepen the peaceful coexistence between Christians and Muslims in the country.

According to him, the donation by the Chief Imam is to demonstrate the mutual cooperation that exists between Ghanaians of all religious faith.

“As Ghanaians, we are all practitioners of a different faith, and we are able to sit around the same table and have an opportunity to discuss things and whatever comes by way of disagreement to really work and maintain our harmony, and we should not do anything to disturb our relationship. In fact, he said we should not use politics to disturb our relationship, and that we should keep politics aside and rather, as practitioners of different faiths, let’s all get united and see what we can do in the interest of our country.”

“He also said we should be mindful of that fact that God has given us peace at the time when nations around us have been plunged into conflict, and he said it is in the spirit of solidarity and mutual cooperation that he donated the GHS50,000 as a token contribution towards the construction of the National Cathedral.”

The Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the National Cathedral, Apostle Opoku Onyinah, who was pleased with the contribution, called on Ghanaians to emulate the gesture.

We are extremely grateful to the Chief Imam for the contribution and also to those who haven’t understood the concept to exercise patience and follow the advice of the National Chief Imam that we should not begin to accuse one another and that religion should bring us together and should not divide us.

The Finance Minister announced in parliament that Ghanaians should voluntarily make a donation of GHS100 towards the project which is expected to be constructed at a cost of $200 million.

Meanwhile, vice-president Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has said he has also contributed towards the construction of the cathedral and he will contribute more as the project progresses.

Speaking at the Adabraka Official Town branch of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana on Sunday, 22 August 2021, Vice-president Bawumia underscored the importance of the Cathedral, and urged all to help build it “for Ghana and for the glory of God.”

“As you all know, there are efforts to build a National Cathedral”.

“It is very important that we build the Cathedral. It is a voluntary exercise; anybody who wants to contribute can contribute. I have contributed, and I will contribute some more”.

“So, I encourage everybody to think about it and let’s build it. It is not for anybody. It is for Ghana and for the glory of God,” he emphasized.

A voluntary, national contribution for the construction of the cathedral would further cement Ghana’s standing as a religiously diverse country living at peace with itself”.

“Ghana is Africa’s second most peaceful country, with adherents of many religions living and working together to build the nation”.

“The construction of the cathedral would add further to our enviable record of peaceful co-existence,” he stated.

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, accompanied by senior members of the Clergy, laid the foundation stone for the Cathedral on March 5, 2020, to signal the start of construction. A National Cathedral Secretariat has since been set up to raise funds from individuals and the private sector for its construction, while work continues apace.

The cathedral will house a series of impressive chapels, a baptistery, a 5000-seat two-level auditorium, a grand central hall, music school, choir rehearsal, art gallery, shop, and multi-use spaces.

It will also be home to Africa’s first Bible Museum and Documentation Centre, dedicated to Christianity and nation-building in Ghana.

A new ceremonial route and landscape will be linking the Cathedral site to Ghana’s prominent, celebratory landmarks – Independence Square, Osu Cemetery, the State House, and Africa Unity Circle.

Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has said that the prime focus of the Akufo-Addo government has been the promotion of inclusive policies to alleviate the suffering of Ghanaians.

Delivering a keynote address at the 11th Quadrennial Delegates Conference of the Industrial and Commercial Workers’ Union (ICU) in Accra on Thursday, August 26, Dr. Bawumia told the workers that the ultimate objective of every policy the government has undertaken since 2017, is to positively impact the lives of everybody in one way or the order, “without leaving anyone behind.”

The Vice President, who acknowledged that the government has not totally eradicated problems, especially in the midst of covid-19, shared with the workers a number of inclusive policies the government has undertaken to mitigate the suffering of Ghanaians since 2017.

“Ladies and Gentlemen, the President on January 7, 2017, promised to rebuild this country as Ghanaians faced daunting challenges including declining economic growth, rapidly falling value of the Cedi and constantly rising inflation and interest rates,” said Dr. Bawumia.

“While we have not totally eliminated the suffering of Ghanaians and Ghanaian workers, we can point to specific policy interventions that have mitigated the suffering that we talked about,” Dr. Bawumia said.

The Vice President listed several social interventions including de-freezing of public sector employment, which has led to the recruitment of thousands of nurses and teachers, creation of NABCO to reduce graduate unemployment, expansion of recruitment into the security services and reduction of electricity tariffs.

Other interventions he listed included: restoration of nursing and teacher trainee allowances, employment interventions through the Youth Employment Agency, industrialization through 1D1F, abolition of many taxes, employment opportunities to people with disability to man toll booths, Free SHS, government’s covid-19 alleviation packages, among others.

The Vice President also shared with the workers numerous entrepreneurial initiatives and support systems by the government, which he said are aimed at further boosting employment opportunities for the youth.

With speakers at the conference agreeing that covid-19 has had a debilitating effect on the economy and workers, Dr. Bawumia assured delegates and Ghanaians that government will continue to do more to further ameliorate the impact of the pandemic on the economy and Ghanaians.
