Sarkodie Caught Puffing the Smoke of Tobacco- Fans React

Fans of rapper Sarkodie have expressed legitimate concerns over the photo shared on social media which has Sarkodie puffing the smoke of a tobacco stick.

To many of these innocent or let me see unsuspecting fans, Sarkodie is a clean artiste who does not meddle in social vices like smoking of weed, marijuana or tobacco.

Following that many of these fans have expressed their reservations over the photo and have vowed to unfollow Sarkodie because he has betrayed the trust they have reposed in him since time immemorial.

According to these fans, they have always defended Sarkodie and argued with others concerning the debate on whether the Sarkecess Music CEO is a habitual smoker who always hides it or not.

May be thee fans need to chill. For all you know, Sarkodie is just an occasional smoker; I mean a passive smoker. Perhaps not.

  • Nana Konadu Rawlings Attacks NDC

    Nana Konadu Rawlings Attacks NDC

The flagbearer of the National Democratic Party (NDP), Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, has accused the National Democratic Congress (NDC) of stealing her manifesto ideas.

According to the former First Lady, the ideas in the NDC’s manifesto for the 2020 election were her contents for the 2016 election. She disclosed this in an interview on GhOne TV. She said the ideas were as a result of her desire to champion skills training and development.

“Now I can see that though I was condemned in 2016 about skill development and skill training, about making salt, other people have stolen the idea and put it in their manifesto,” she said.

However, fast forward to the 2020 election, the same party she said condemned her for preaching that agenda is also towing that line.

“I’ve heard it from former President Mahama saying we can now make salt and skill training and skill development is the best, they were insulting me about it but I said it is key to a country’s development.

It’s key because you can’t have 12 million people going to school and all becoming graduates. Every nation needs categorisation of specific duties,” she noted.

  • US 2020 Elections: Germany, France, EU, Hungary React To US Electoral Dilemma While UK Stays Silent

US 2020 Elections: Germany, France, EU, Hungary React To US Electoral Dilemma While UK Stays Silent

As threats of legal challenges from Donald Trump mount against Joe Biden campaign due to the US president’s perceived allegations of ‘electoral fraud’ in states like Arizona, Pennsylvania and Michigan, the German governmen  has urged the US leader to refrain from pouring oil on the fire of an already tense electoral situation.

Trump has already dispatched his team of lawyers to battle ground states of Pennsylvania and Arizona and has reportedly told his aides he won’t concede as he has been “robbed of the election”.

His campaign allege Democrat controlled Pennsylvania electoral officials have been using votes from dead people and also double voting to clean off his lead against Biden.

While the UK government has refused to wade into the electoral situation in the US that might see Biden win the election but Trump refuse to vacate office, Germany has urged Trump to end his claim that the American election was fraudulent, urging the president and his followers to stop “pouring oil” on the tense situation in the US and noting that “decent losers” were vital to upholding democracy.

The German foreign minister, Heiko Maas, said: “America is more than a one-man show. Anyone who continues to pour oil on the fire in a situation like this is acting irresponsibly. Now is the time to keep a cool head until an independently determined result is available.”

In order for the result – which has not yet been determined – to be accepted, everyone must first show restraint. Decent losers are more important for the functioning of a democracy than radiant winners.”

Maas said he expected that once the election result was settled, “the USA will probably not return to the international stage with full energy for the time being”, but he added: “The world needs the USA as a force for order, not as a factor of chaos.”

The UK will face a dilemma if Trump refuses to concede defeat and Biden claims victory, since it is traditional for the UK to congratulate the victor.

Reports from the UK say Britain could continue to keep quiet on the issue until all legal challenges by the Trump campaign are exhausted.

The UK shadow justice minister, David Lammy, said: “Boris Johnson and Dominic Raab’s silence as Donald Trump attempts to undermine the American people’s right to free and fair elections is a national disgrace. We must have the courage to stand up for democracy whoever attacks it. No exceptions.”

Jean-Yves Le Drian, the French foreign minister, said he had faith in the US institutions validating the result, adding that even if Biden was elected, the US and the EU “will not return to the status that prevailed before, to a kind of good old days in the transatlantic relationship. The world has moved in four years. Europe is trying to become a power unto itself, instead of relying on US support.”/

He described the US election as “a historic vote, in terms of the tension and the size of the turnout”.

The Hungarian prime minister, Viktor OrbĂĄn, in his own remarks on Friday suggested the US would not be in a position to lecture other countries on democracy after this election.

“If things happened in Hungary, like over there, then here, I don’t know, the sky would have fallen. It’s unimaginable,” the Hungarian leader said.

  • Gold production in Ghana projected to increase by 9% in 2021 – Fitch Solutions

Gold production in Ghana projected to increase by 9% in 2021 – Fitch Solutions

The rate of gold production in Ghana is projected to witness a growth of about 9 percent in 2021, global market analysis agency, Fitch Solutions has said.

According to a report by Fitch Solutions, this will become the largest growth rate for gold production experienced by Ghana.

The market analysis firm explained the projection will impact positively on the volume of gold production to 4.65 million for Ghana.

Also, this will aid Ghana to sustain its spot as Africa’s largest gold producer in 2021. Ghana currently leads South Africa in terms of gold production capacity after the latter lost its position in 2019 to Ghana.

“A significant growth in Gold production in Ghana will be driven by the Phase 2 completion of AngloGold Ashanti’s Obuasi Project,” the agency noted.

Meanwhile, AngloGold Ashanti in December 2019 at its Obuasi mine poured its first gold during Phase 1 of the project.

The firm also in October 2020, reported a progress account indicating 68.4 percent of the project was completed.

AngloGold Ashanti at the present aims to accomplish a stable state of operation in 2021. This will then lead to a rise in Ghana’s gold production by roughly 350-400k oz per year during the first 10 years of its Obuasi’s mine life.
