China Criticises US over withdrawal From Afghanistan

China has criticised the US withdrawal from Afghanistan, accusing Washington of having “selfish” foreign policy priorities.

It said the US had used the rhetoric of a rules-based global order to defend its own “bullying, hegemonic behaviour”.

“The US can wantonly conduct military intervention in a sovereign country and does not need to be responsible for the suffering of the people in that country,” foreign ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin told a press briefing.
“The US can arbitrarily smear, suppress, coerce and bully other countries without paying any price,” he added.

The Afghanistan exit has been a golden opportunity for China to convince the Asian public that the US cannot be trusted, experts say.

Meanwhile, China has called at that meeting of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva for the US, UK, and other countries to “be held accountable for the violation of human rights committed by their military in Afghanistan”.

  • GFA set to hold DTMS training for RFA clubs ahead of 2021/22 season

GFA set to hold DTMS training for RFA clubs ahead of 2021/22 season

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) will organize a training session on the use of Domestic Transfer Matching System [DTMS] for all TMS managers from clubs in the Regional Football Associations namely the Second Division League, Regional Women’s Division One League, Regional Women’s Second Division League, Third Division League, and the Juvenile League clubs.

Over the years, some clubs have had issues regarding domestic player transfer and this move by the IT Department of the GFA has come in handy to eliminate all barriers regarding transfer activities.

It would be recalled that a year ago, the GFA organized training programmes on the use of Domestic Transfer Matching System [DTMS] for all TMS managers from the Premier League, Division One League, and the Women’s Elite clubs and it is now the turn of the Regional League clubs to complete the training for all Ghanaian clubs per FIFA’s requirement.

“Regional football clubs will soon be transferring players domestically and it is important to be abreast with tips on the use of this transfer system. This will give the football authorities first-hand information on domestic player transfers and help clubs transfer players more quickly and easily”, said GFA I.T. Director Francis Adu.

The training which is web-based also serves as a data storage system whose main objective is to simplify the transfer process of players as well as to improve transparency and flow of information.

As part of measures to improve the Ghanaian game and ensure transparency, the DTMS will help the Association and its clubs to manage and supervise national player transfers, generate statistics to help reduce the duration of the transfer process and store the required documents online securely.

The DTMS is mandatory for domestic transfer of professional and amateur soccer players of both male and female players in football competitions.

The Ghana Football Association remains a pacesetter in football and modern technology and serves as a hub for training for neighbouring Africa football associations for FIFA.

“The Association will continue to invest in Information and Technology to build the capacity of our clubs and members to advance the frontiers of our game to the highest international standards” said General Secretary Prosper Harrison Addo (Esq.) as he urges all the clubs to take advantage of the money invested in the training by sending competent and trustworthy officials to be trained by the GFA.

The Regional training will start in September 2021.

  • What increases the chance of having twins

What increases the chance of having twins

What increases the chance of having a twins

Several factors can increase the likelihood of a woman conceiving twins. These include:

    Family history

A woman has a higher chance of having twins if she has a family history of twins. A family history of twins on the mother’s side increases this likelihood more than a family history on the father’s side. Yet, this only applies if conception takes place without the use of fertility treatments.

According to the ASRM, women who are themselves nonidentical twins produce twins in around 1 in every 60 births. For men who are nonidentical twins, the chance of conceiving twins is only 1 in every 125 births.
Some people believe that twins can skip a generation, meaning that a person will have twins if one of their grandparents did. Yet, there is little evidence to support this theory.

    Fertility treatment

The ASRM notes that the main factor that increases the chance of having twins is the use of fertility treatments. The various types of fertility treatment available increase the likelihood of twins in different ways.
Some fertility drugs work by stimulating a woman’s ovaries, which can sometimes cause them to release more than one egg. If sperm fertilizes both of these eggs, this can result in twins.

How to have twins In vitro fertilization (IVF) can also increase the chance of conceiving twins.
Healthcare professionals carry out IVF by extracting a woman’s eggs and fertilizing them with a donor’s sperm in a laboratory to produce an embryo. They then transfer the fertilized embryo into the woman’s womb.

To increase the likelihood of success, the healthcare professional may place more than one embryo into the womb. Twins can occur if both embryos implant and develop.

Many pregnancies carry extra risks, so the healthcare professional will usually limit the number of embryos that they transfer to the woman’s womb to reduce the chance of a pregnancy with twins, triplets, or more.

    Age

According to the Office on Women’s Health, women who are aged 30 years or older are more likely to conceive twins. The reason for this is that women of this age are more likely than younger women to release more than one egg during their reproductive cycle. If sperm fertilizes two separate eggs, a twin pregnancy can occur.

    Height and weight

The ASRM report that non-identical twins are slightly more common in taller or heavier women than they are in small women. The reasons for this are not clear, but it may be due to better nutrition. Women with a higher body weight may have more resources available for a developing fetus
