God Is Not Responsible For Coronavirus Outbreak- Mensah Otabil

Mensah Otabil The leader and founder of International Central Gospel Church ICGC, Pastor Mensa Otabil has stated that the outbreak of coronavirus should be attributed to the wrath of God.

Pastor Mensah Otabil made this statement during a Facebook live session.

His statement follows a perception that God is judging people for the sins they have committed through the pandemic.

He said: “I don’t really think that this is a judgment from God, I don’t see any reason scripturally to arrive at that conclusion; I think our view of God, sometimes, makes us see Him as a very vengeful person who is out there with a big stick trying to knock out everybody who doesn’t like Him and everybody who dishonors Him.

“But my understanding of Him is: He is love and compassion. Of course, He also has a judgment part which is reserved for another period in human history but in these times, I think God is dealing with us in mercy and in kindness and in grace and I think God’s desire is that people be well, that people will be healed, that people feel better and that will be the way that I see God and, so, I don’t think this is a divine judgment neither do I think it’s a demonic attack.”

Pastor Otabil added: “I think it’s just human, one of these things that happens to us as human beings, there is the forces of nature coming against us either because we have interfered in the natural process or we have done something that has disorganised the ecology of the world we live in and, so, these are things that can hit us if we don’t organise our lives well in this human space. I think it’s a human action that brought it into being and it’s also going to take human actions to take it away.”

    1. Don’t Visit Loved Ones- This is a crucial moment for us and we are often tempted to check up on our family members and friends who live in other cities. Just stay home and call them on phone. This will not only keep you safe but keep your loved ones safe as well.
    2. Indulging in unhealthy meals- This lockdown isn’t the time to live an unhealthy lifestyle. This is the time to stay hydrated, eat more fruits and vegetables, avoid oily foods as much as possible and most importantly remain indoors.
    3. Laying in bed all day- This part is extremely tempting. In as much as you have a whole two weeks to yourself to sleep as much as you want, you wouldn’t want to be inactive. Take a walk around the compound, do jogging or brisk walking around the compound and some squats. This will not only keep you active but keep your heart healthy. After the lockdown, you will realize that you have a lot of energy to work.
    4. Watching TV all day- What else do you have doing apart from watching TV anyway? Watching TV is good especially if you want to catch the latest shows or latest news BUT don’t make it a habit. Use the free time to read a book, learn a new word, declutter your wardrobe, do deep cleaning, etc. This will make you feel good about yourself and make you productive.
    5. Pressing Phones all-day- This lockdown is a time to bond with members of your family. Engage in deep long conversations. Work has kept you busy all week, so now that you have that free time, have some family games, play cards, ludu, Oware, pick and act and other fun games to keep the bond tight and strong.

I hope these tips help you remain sane during this lockdown period.

  • Ghana Finally Legalizes Weed

    Ghana Finally Legalizes Weed

Ghana has finally legalised weed (known in our local parlance as wee) after a lot of pressure from some Reggae/Dancehall artistes and other prominent people in the country.
On Friday- March 20 2020 the country’s Parliament passed into law the Narcotics Control Commission Bill, 2019. The law now makes the country’s Narcotics Control Board (NACOB) a Commission with enhanced powers to oversee the industrial use of some narcotic substances.

The law does not in any way allow individuals or companies to deal in illicit drug trade but solely for medicinal use.

With this new development, Ghana thus joins other African countries like Malawi, Zimbabwe and South Africa who have altered their laws on narcotics.

Cannabis, also known as marijuana among other names, is a psychoactive drug from the Cannabis plant used for medical or recreational purposes.

psychoactive component of cannabis is tetrahydrocannabinol, one of the 483 known compounds in the plant, including at least 65 other cannabinoids.
