SAMINI TURNED AWAY FROM HIGH SCHOOL AFTER DREADLOCKS DEEMED INAPPROPRIATE

Ghanaian dancehall artiste Samini has been denied speaking engagement with a student of the Ebenezer Senior High School Accra, over his dreadlocks.

Speaking to Citi News, the Highgrade Family boss recounted how the school’s headmaster prevented him from addressing students as his looks were described as unbefitting.

“The headmaster of Ebenezer Senior High School decided that because of my dreadlocks, I was not fit to speak to the students of the school which is in Dansoman where I live, which is 5 minutes from my parents’ home,” he said.

Samini who explained the ordeal said, he initially found the headmaster’s comment as a harmless joke but it later turned out to be an over the top statement.

This he said forced him to exit the school with his team without addressing the students.

As part of his school tour in Dansoman, he went through his former school Saint Magaret Mary and other schools but no one denied them access to speak to the students.

“At Saint Margaret Mary, I went there with my dreadlocks and I met the Reverend Father who is the assistant headmaster and then I went and met the headmistress herself. Then I went to the vocational school with my dreadlocks,” he further noted.

Samini who has been in the Ghanaian music industry for about 20 years, has earned a lot of spurs in the music industry, both on the local market and internationally.

He is known for songs such as ‘Obaa’, ‘Linda’, ‘Odo’, ‘Where My Baby Dey’, ‘Music’, among others.

  • PROFANITY IN MUSIC INDUSTRY IN GHANA

There is a very high record of profanity in the music industry of Ghana in our current dispensation.

Profanity is something that is not related to sacred or religious things. Ghana is well known for its cultural and traditional values and has been commended by many other countries in the past years.

The high sudden turn from commended cultural values into profanity has defaced the good name of our motherland  Ghana most especially in the music industry.

These ladies are exposing themselves to the extreme.

Speaking to some Ghanaians on the 17th December 2019, they have lamented that both the ministry of gender, female and children protection and the music industry should make a law against profanity and anyone who falls for such law should be severely punished.

  • HOW DARE YOU DARE ME – ABEIKU SANTANA TO ‘GIRLS PREFECT’ NANA ABA

HOW DARE YOU DARE ME – ABEIKU SANTANA TO ‘GIRLS PREFECT’ NANA ABA

The fallout from the Cardi B event in Ghana has not been pleasant.

Now, two media personalities are going at each other days after the American rapper, Cardi B never showed up for a ‘Meet and Greet’ session with Ghanaian celebrities.

Broadcaster Abeiku Santana has again taken a swipe at journalist Nana Aba Anamoah for giving him an ultimatum to prove that she [Nana Aba] spoke ill about Despite Media for inviting Big Brother Naija Housemate Tacha to Ghana.

According to the host of ‘Ekwanso Dwoodwoo’ on Okay FM, after giving the ‘State of Affairs’ host evidence that she had had a Twitter conversation with her protégée Serwa Amihere about Big Brother Naija and events in the Big Brother Naija House, she [Nana Aba] cannot deny on Twitter that she does not know Tacha.

Abeiku Santana, who calls himself Mr Tourism before signing off his late afternoon show on Okay FM Wednesday, December 11, stated that Nana Aba Anamoah had always been vociferous about things happening in Ghana, that is, from politics through to social issues and entertainment, so he was surprised when she [Nana Aba] as the ‘girl’s prefect’ could not comment about things that happened at the Cardi B live in Ghana concert, where the event organizers disrespected some Ghanaian celebrities.

He said, “Nana Aba Anamoah you say you’re Sarkodie’s PR and also a fan of Shatta Wale; they have been disrespected by Nigerians who organised the Cardi B event in Ghana… and as girl’s perfect, you couldn’t speak, but you’re quick to speak your mind on politics and other social issues”.

“…After telling you to come and address these issues you give me an ultimatum that I should come and remove my mouth; how dare you, how dare you dare me, how dare you dare me, can you dare me, can you dare me; this should be your last warning. I’ve been advised so don’t dare me,” angry Abeiku Santana burst out in the studio.

He explained further that the Cardi B show was organised by Nigerians who used Ghanaians as the front liners and yet disrespected big artistes like Sarkodie and Shatta Wale (who used a helicopter to go and do his soundcheck) from not performing at the show which came off last Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium.
