It’s no doubt that Ras Nene has taken over social media with his comic skits which have earned him praises from some individuals.

To many, he held the movie industry down when it was in shambles but it appears Lilwin thinks otherwise.

According to Kumawood actor Kwadwo Nkasah aka Lil Win, Ghanaians should stop comparing him to Ras Nene because they are not of the same level when it comes to achievements.

In an interview with ZionFelix, Lil Win stated without mincing words that Ras Nene also known as ‘Dr. Likee’ is on a different level.

“There’s a difference between a movie star and a YouTube star. It’s impossible to cross boundaries. For instance, I will continue to be a star until I die. My record is unbeatable. • The gospel musician has explained that poverty made her skin dark

    • Her explanation has been linked to Ama Boahemaa, who was also called out for bleaching

Gospel musician Florence Obinim in response to rumours of her bleaching her skin has noted that poverty made her skin darker; adding that she is naturally fair.

In a news report by Mynewsgh.com, the wife of popular preacher, Prophet Daniel Obinim is quoted to have said, “Someone has a chocolate colour but because she’s not financially sound, she cannot buy good cream to make the skin glow, now she has money to buy good creams to make her skin glow why should that be a problem?”

Reacting to the explanation given by the singer, Columnist, Vida Adutwumwaa Boateng speaking on Bloggers’ Forum on GhanaWeb TV, stated that Ghanaians must put a stop to giving “excuses” when called out for bleaching their skin.

Vida told the host of Bloggers’ Form, Abrantepa that, the actions of these celebrities tend to influence the youth into also bleaching and toning their skin.

She said: “Florence Obinim says she has always been fair adding that poverty darkened her skin. She reminds me of Amma Boahemaa who claimed to have become fair after drinking milk. In fact, I don’t know what kind of milk she took that was able to rip her black skin off, I can only imagine what damage it caused to her intestines and other organs if the outer layer was completely washout off.”

Vida has charged dark skin women to wear their melanin skin in confidence and not fall victim to the pressures of society.

“Let’s not make excuses for these things, after all, it’s your body and you decide what to do with it. Don’t make excuses for toning and bleaching. It is a big issue, now pregnant women are taking pills that will lighten the skin of their unborn child. Let’s cherish our skin, don’t give the young ones an excuse to go for other chemicals to bleach their skin,” she charged.

    • Sadiq expresses concern over some remarks Shatta Wale made recently• He refuses to accept that a claim that musicians cannot know the amount they make on songs

    • Such claims, he insists, affect the progress of the industry

Sadiq Abdulai Abu, the founder and CEO of 3 Media Networks tackled Shatta Wale’s claim that musicians cannot tell how much they make on a song or video.

The musician had explained on Hitz FM’s Daybreak Hitz that one of the reasons he is not enthused about collaborations with local acts is that it is not financially rewarding.

SEE ALSO: Ks Parka – Ohia Y3 Dede Prod by IceKoBeat

Citing his collaboration with Sarkodie as an example, Shatta Wale said: “If people want us to do collaborations like this, I’d say the structures are not right for us to know how much we’d make if Sarkodie and I do a collaboration. If you call Sarkodie and ask how much we made for ‘Megye Wo Girl’, I swear, he can’t tell you. He can’t give you a figure.”

His remark was an elaboration on why his ‘Gift of God’ album had been delayed. According to him, efforts to get some notable international artistes on the album has not been successful but that will not compel him to “impress Ghanaians” by collaborating with equally great countrymen.

He said: “I’m about the business. Shatta Wale featuring Samini could have been the biggest song in Ghana but I did a song with Samini at a point where he realized we should do a song. The business around this thing is not to create an impression but it’s about making money and feeding fans.”

Responding to Shatta Wale’s comment in a series of tweets, Sadiq shot down the assertions of the dancehall musician.

Considering that artistes receive money from various digital music platforms based on metrics known to the musicians and the general public, Sadiq, without equivocation, described Shatta Wale’s point as hollow.

“Wale is always making hollow arguments and running in circles. Who says that today, one can’t know exactly how much one makes on a song or video? How such narratives are allowed to fester is shocking”, Sadiq stated.

“Industries can’t be built without thought leadership. Wrongful narratives from people who have next to nothing idea on how industries are enabled shouldn’t be allowed to fester. It’s the reason we keep talking about the same issues year in year out without much progress”, he continued.

Sadiq posited further posited that for the industry to progress, conversations must be elevated

He said: “The business of media, entertainment & the creative industry is a serious one & can’t be limited to cheap, populist & simplistic takes. Wrongful narratives create perception. Deeply held perceptions become reality & soon we will be back to a downward spiral drive one more time. Majors are looking in. The shifts has started. This isn’t the time to allow the small and simplistic talks to erode the gains. Forward we must and that can’t happen on this small mind talks.”

    • TV presenter Delay shed tears in her interview with singer Dhat Gyal

    • Delay noted that she can relate to the life struggles of the 22-year-old singer

    • She has advised the singer to stay away from drugs and bad company

It was an emotional sight when television presenter, Deloris Frimpong Manso, well known as Delay couldn’t hold back her tears during an interview with young female musician, Dhat Gyal.

The life story and struggles of the singer who has battled drug addiction in the past according to Delay is very touching.

The TV presenter revealed that she suffered a similar fate but managed to fight through the storms to succeed in life.

Narrating her story, Dhat Gyal revealed that she was introduced to hard drugs at a young age. The dancehall musician also disclosed that she was raped by an unknown man in 2016.

“In 2016, I accompanied a friend and an unknown lady to Mile 7. The woman led us into a house which was occupied by three guys. All of a sudden the woman told us that she had to leave because she has been informed that her baby was crying. Then, I decided that we will all leave but she insisted that we stayed behind.

“It wasn’t clear to me but she assured us that the guys won’t hurt us. After she left, the guys got us some drink but I still wasn’t okay. All of a sudden, one of the guys started touching me and I hesitated. He then got angry and disclosed that the woman who brought us to the house was paid some money. He said they gave the woman money to bring us. He angrily stood up and locked the door. He pounced on me and raped me. Asides from raping me, I was mercilessly beaten,” said the singer.

She added that her mother died just a year after completing Junior High School. Her mother was knocked down by a speeding driver around the Tesano Police Depot in 2016.

Delay who was touched by her story advised the singer against the use of hard drugs and also charged her to avoid bad company.

She said: “Personally, I was telling your management before the interview, even before we met that there are things about you that feel like you are mirroring me in a certain way. You remind me of when I was younger, right from the time my mother died, me trying to find my way in the industry but luckily for me, I didn’t end up with the wrong company. I would say it was by luck but you have tasted that, but I still feel that you are very beautiful, talented, and still very young, 22 years

“I think you should find God and find him well, He will guide you well. With the kind of industry you want to break out from, it’s God who can kick your demons out and help you to really discover yourself. All hope is not lost, I saw you crying during the interview. Were you crying because you feel all hope is lost?… If I have been able to succeed in this life, judging from my beginnings and struggles.. just keep your eyes on the goal and be strong.”

Delay who couldn’t hold back her tears towards the tail end of the interview, assured the singer that there was hope for the future.

“Avoid bad company, bad company corrupts a good life. I beg you, stay away from drugs, it will destroy you. Keep your voice fresh and keep on serenading us with good music. Don’t destroy your voice with the drugs, I beg you. I want to be able to sit back and watch you succeed (breaks down). I don’t want you to mess yourself up, I hope you are listening. I am so glad you came,” Delay told the singer, Dhat Gyal.
