The UN has announced its decision to remove Ghana from the list of countries that are deficient in money laundering and terrorizing financing. This comes atfer a meeting with President Akuffo Addo and the President of the EU commission Charles Machoi in Brazles Belguim. At the meeting, the EU government acknowledged Ghana’s effort at implementing the action plan of the international country risks guide in recent time.

A statement from the President signed by the Director of Communications Eugene Arhin, said the EU commission congratulated Ghana on the reforms as well as the sustainable robust system deployed towards being taken off the list.The statement said it is expected by the financial task force which is the global money laundering and terrorist financial watch dog,will next month announce that Ghana has been taken off the list of top third world countries with strategic deficiencies in anti-money laundering and countering of terrorizing.

Again at the meeting with the Vice President of the European commission, the commission indicated the selection of Ghana ad possible manufacturing hub for covid-19 vaccines in Africa. This according to the commission follows the initiatives already taken by the government of Ghana towards the domestic manufacturing of the vaccines.
