Is Government Deliberately Refusing To Pay The Two Months Salaries Arrears of the 4% to Nurses? Pay Us Now!!.. – Bismark Kpobi

Last year, 2021, was the saddest year in the lives of public sector workers since salary increment was pegged at 4% and 7% for 2022 despite the cost of living and the prices of goods and services. So it was a shock to all to see that our monies wouldn’t see any marginal increment as compared to previous years since the introduction and implementation of the single spine salary structure SSSS.

Very appalling to say, even the 4% stipulated arrears that was marked to be paid , over 80% of Nurses and some percentage of teachers were denied Two Solid Months Arrears that should have reflected in December,2021 payment. Upon several enquiries, we were made to understand that it was due to some few technical challenges hence all the two months arrears will be addressed and paid together with the January 7% salary increment, but alas, we woke up to another deception and shocks since the two months 4% salary arrears never reflected or paid. Most colleagues don’t usually check their salaries when paid , some only spend whatever that comes so it took the eagle eyes of few to detect that.

So we believe that government wanted to shortchange us for reasons best known to them.We have over 120,000 nurses working, so if such a percentage of people are denied the 4% ,in addition to some teachers, you will appreciate how much someone is making through the backdoor with our salary arrears.

Bismark calls on the government and director at controller and accountant general department to come out clear on this mishappenning to nurses and some teachers.Enough of the delays or stagnation in points changes and its accompanying monies and the rest.

    Hoping to hearing from you.

HALT THE RE-INTRODUCTION OF “ZOOM NURSES”-GRNMA TO GOV’T, GHS

The Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA) says they are unhappy about the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the Ghana Health Service (GHS) and the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) for the re-introduction of the modular Six (6) month training for Community Health Workers (Zoom Nurses).

According to the Leadership of the Association, the International Council of Nurses (ICN) defines a nurse as a person who has completed a program of basic, generalised nursing education and is authorised by the appropriate regulatory authority to practice nursing in his/her country.

Speaking to the First Chairman of the Ashanti Regional Branch of the Association today, Mr. Philimon Adu Brempong said, they are worried about the constant efforts of stakeholders, especially successive governments to adulterate the nursing profession.

He said the Association is therefore entreating stakeholders and the general public to desist from attaching the name “nurse” to any undertrained person who attains a Six-month training or less and parade himself or herself as a nurse.

Nursing is a noble profession and requires extensive training to become part of the profession.

“We have over Fourteen Thousand (14,000) qualified Nurses and Midwives who are awaiting government ployment thus the GRNMA is urging government and the necessary stakeholders to employ these professionals instead of the Six-month training to unqualified persons to become part of the service”, Mr. Adu told Nana Ampratwum on Silver FM’s Omanbapa Morning Show.

He added that instead of committing new funds to train the Community Health Workers (Zoom Nurses), those funds should be channeled into the issuance of the Financial Clearance to employ those awaiting employment who have the requisite skills and knowledge to help the country especially in it’s fight against the COVID 19 pandemic.

He finally called on the government to as a matter of urgency halt the Re-introduction of the Community Health Workers (Zoom Nurses) to save the profession.

Ghanaian nurses being taught how to master and practice d0ggy style in the classroom

A viral video on social media gives an account of Ghanaian nurses being taught how to practise and master doggy style in the classroom.

These nurses are being introduced to the other aspects of sexual education where they are made to understand the various sexual positions and how they can replicate them.

The video reveals a set of nurses being taught how to bend and position their bums to make the doggy style more pleasurable and effortless.

This piece of somewhat educative video has caused a stir on social media with many raising concerns over the qualify of education these nurses get before they are enrolled into the health sector to take care of patients.

Many believe the education nurses receive in the country must be revised so these individuals are taken through the rudimentary of health care in order for them to be as professional as they could.

No wonder most nurses are in the bad books of Ghanaians considering how lackadaisical they are about their duties and the quantum of time they waste away on social media.
