    The final burial rites of late former Chief Executive Officer of the Forestry Commission, Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, aka Sir John, is set to come off on Wednesday, June 2, 2021.

    All the funeral rites are scheduled to take place in his hometown, Sakora Wonoo in the Kwabre East District of the Ashanti Region in strict adherence to the covid-19 safety protocols.

    The funeral rites of the politician, popularly known as Sir John, is being held at the Sakora Wonoo Junior High School, in the Kwabre East District of the Ashanti Region where his family, friends and residents of the community, have filed past his remains to pay their last respect.

    Five people have been stabbed after mayhem erupted at a funeral in Apam in the Gomoa West District of the Central region.

    According to eyes withness, the chaos erupted after some allege land guards believed to be coming from Ashaiman in Accra stormed the funeral sparking tension between them and the youth of the Apam town.

    A gun battle ensued after the police were called in to restore order.  Vehicles and other properties were destroyed in the melee.

    The victims are currently receiving treatment at the Apam government hospital. Men of the community have reportedly gone into hiding fearing either arrest by the police and attack by the land guards.

    Ft. Lt Jerry John Rawlings who died at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital from Coronavirus on 12th November 2020 is said to have tomorrow been a week after his departure after battling with a little illness.


    Family of the former president has stated that there won’t be any one-week celebration of the late statesman but citizens of the country who have sincere love for the ex-president have made cloth in honour of Rawlings just to celebrate his one week.

    This piece of cloth appears exceptionally nice looking at the African designs which were used to decorate the material.

    Rawlings was a staunch Pan-Africanist so it is in the right sense to depict his roots in his memorial cloth.
