I know I’m the ‘Artiste of the Year’ – Kofi Kinaata

Multiple award winner at the just-ended 2020 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA), Kofi Kinaata, believes he is the true ‘Artiste of the Year’ though he didn’t win the much-coveted prize.

“I know I’m the Artiste of the Year. It was just on the plaque [for Kuami Eugene] but I knew it’s mine, Kofi Kinaata,” he said.

The artiste from Takoradi in the Western region, who picked three out of four nominations, said he deserved the ultimate.

“I wanted everything,” was his response when DJ Reuben asked the ‘Things Fall Apart’ hitmaker his expectations going into the awards on Luv FM’s Oseikrom Top Ten Chart show, Sunday.

Kinaata, who wouldn’t say he was disappointed was, however, quick to add that “It could have been me too.”

“Looking at the year under review, it was Kofi Kinaata. I know my songs are the best,” he added.

He urged his fans not to be disappointed as it’s a competition and he will work hard to make them proud.

“Majority of Ghanaians will say is Kofi Kinaata but aside the judges, anything can happen,” he consoled his fans.

Mahama Drops Humongous List of his Promises Despite Cristism

The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama has done his thing again as he drops another humongous list of his promises despite criticism.

The NDC candidate, Mahama has not stop his humongous list of promises despite criticism from public figures, politicians and other presidential candidates from other parties

It is just 98days to one of the biggest event in the Nation which will decide who will become the next President of the Republic of Ghana.

Will it still Nana Akufo-Addo of NPP or John Dramani Mahama of NDC?, we don’t know yet but December 7, 2020 will give us the answer.

However, the fact is that the 2020 elections is between two major political party in Ghana

And also two well known presidential candidates who have competed for the presidential post for some number of times now i.e Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo of the New Patriotic Party who happens to be the current president and the opposition candidate, John Dramani Mahama.

The former president of the Republic of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama is so much ready and he is giving all his efforts to come out victorious in the December polls.

But despite all his efforts, there has been a massive criticism against some of his campaign promises because many feels he is giving those promises to score political points and also to win the hearts of Ghanaians so they will vote for him.

According to yesterday, 30 August 2020 reports, the presidential candidates of the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG), Kofi Akpaloo expressed his disappointments over the former president humongous list of promises and mostly the one he said, he will legalize Okada riding business.

But despite all criticism and down play, the NDC presidential candidate still recapitulated the same promises on his official Facebook page this morning.

  • Chelsea Chief Confirms Frank Lampard transfer Plans after Kai Havertz announcement

Chelsea Chief Confirms Frank Lampard transfer Plans after Kai Havertz announcement

Chelsea technical director Petr Cech has confirmed that Frank Lampard will continue to make signings after Kai Havertz becomes the sixth new arrival at Stamford Bridge this summer.

The Blues have reached an agreement with Bayer Leverkusen to purchase the versatile midfielder for around £80million.

That will take Chelsea’s spending over the £200m mark and half of their starting XI on the opening day of the season could be making their debuts.

Attackers Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner were captured before the transfer window even opened.

Defenders Ben Chilwell, Thiago Silva and Malang Sarr all put pen to paper on their deals last week – although the latter will be sent out on loan for the upcoming campaign.

Havertz will become the sixth new arrival in west London but Lampard has no plans to stop his spending there.

Kepa Arrizabala’s turbulent form over the past two years has raised major questions over his long-term future.

Cech explained that the club still have confidence in the 25-year-old shot stopper but also admitted a new No 1 could be brought in.

“Kepa struggled last season, that is unquestionable,” Cech told Sport.cz.

“But the club invested in him and gave him a long-term contract because they believe he has the qualities and attributes to be successful.

“Additions will be made to the squad, perhaps even in goal, and this is what is being discussed now.

“But nobody is giving up on Kepa and we all hope he has a great future.”

The transfer window has been extended until October 5 this year and Cech will be working hard behind the scenes to get more deals over the line.

“The issue of reinforcements is now very much alive,” the ex-goalkeeper added.

“The transfer window is until the end of October this year so there will be a lot of changes after the league begins.

“And the question is how much the coronavirus pandemic will affect everything.”

Cech was instrumental in convincing Werner and Havertz that their futures lie with Chelsea.

The technical director took secret trips to Germany to convince the pair to complete their moves.

  • Game Over! AG never gave Agyapa Deal All Clear Latest legal Advice Reveals

Game Over! AG never gave Agyapa Deal All Clear Latest legal Advice Reveals

The latest letter from the Attorney-General Gloria Akufo on the scandalous Agyapa/Asaase Royalties transaction dated August 12, 2020 has disturbingly revealed how the Finance Ministry and the Jubilee House have fraudulently pushed the agreement through despite four different warning that the deal was harmful to Ghana.

The Attorney General had described the Agyapa deal as “onerous”, “unconscionable” , and a violation of Bank of Ghana Act. But earlier today, August 28, 2020, Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko, President Akufo Addo’s cousin and the main champion of the Agyapa deal has claimed that after discussions with the AG, she had changed her stance.

In the interview with Accra-based Asempa FM, Gabby went on to claim that the August 12, 2020 letter which is the AG final acceptance of the terms of the shady agreement is not in circulation, claiming the exposé of the older advice from the AG was politically motivated.

However, Whatsup News can categorically state that Gabby lied when he claimed the AG’s warnings had been heeded to in the agreement. Whatsup News is in possession of the August 12, 2020 letter that Mr. Otchere-Darko referred to and the AG is still insisting that the harmful deal had been pushed through against her advice.

In fact, the transaction advisors have gone behind the AG to insert even more damaging provisions into the agreement, making Ghana liable to legal suits while indemnifying the faceless private investors and the transaction brokers on Wall Street.

For instance, the faceless sponsors of the Agyapa deal have secretly maintained provisions in the agreement that basically destroys Ghana’s sovereignty in the transaction. An angry AG ordered them to go back and scrap the subversive provisions.

“Sovereign Immunity and Waiver of Defences (B4.151- We maintain our  position that Sovereignty resides in the State properly so-called and not in  limited liability companies (even with the State being the majority  shareholder) or statutory bodies. Although the Fund and Ghana Revenue  Authority are statutory bodies, they are not sovereign and therefore cannot  enjoy sovereign immunities in respect of “protected assets,” the AG stated.

From our sources, this latest warning against bastardising Ghana’s sovereignty was maintained in the final agreement that was passed in Parliament a couple of weeks ago.

“We note that this is a new provision introduced into the Agreement which seeks to hold the Republic and the Fund jointly and severally liable for their respective obligations and undertaking,” the AG complained in the August 12 letter.

The AG then ordered the transaction sponsors at the Ministry of Finance and friends of Mr. Otchere-Darko to go back and change the insidious terms that would have adversely left Ghana vulnerable to suits from Agyapa investors.

The AG said they should go and change the particular provision to the following: “If a third party not being a party to this Deed, commences proceedings  against any Indemnified Person in any court of competent jurisdiction,  arising out of or in connection with this Deed, the Transaction, or the  provision by any of the Banks of assistance to the MOF or any other member  of the Group in connection with the Transaction (the Third Party  Proceedings), MOF as a party may join such Third Party Proceedings in such  courts In the jurisdiction in question, regardless of whether proceedings  have been initiated or are ongoing in another JurisdIction. The MOF irrevocably agrees that a Judgment or order of any such court in  connection with such proceedings shall be conclusive and binding on it  and may be enforced against it in the courts of any other Jurisdiction.”

Whatsup News have gathered from sources that President Akufo Addo himself has mounted pressure on the AG to let the matter go, despite her strong opposition to how Ghana’s sovereignty is being “raped”.

Already, Jubilee House hounds have been unleased on the Ministry of Finance and the Attorney General’s office to smoke out the angry whistleblowers who had leaked the documents.

In the stinking agreement, the Minerals Income Investment Fund (MIIF) which was set up in 2018, requires a private Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) to “monetise” Ghana’s mining royalties that sum up to US$ 200 million annually. Agyapa Royalties was incidentally picked as the lucky SPV. It was eventually registered in a notorious tax haven on the British Virgin Islands often used by corrupt politicians to hide identifies of “Shell companies” they form to siphon public funds.

However, paper trails are linking the onerous deal as being pushed to personally benefit the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko and the Jubilee House “Mafia”.

For instance, the transaction advisors to the hair-raising deal included a law firm owned by Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko, who is President Akufo Addo’s cousin and right-hand-man at the Presidency.  Investigations by Whatsup News reveals that Asaase/Agyapa Royalties has relationships with companies and individuals that are directly connected to the Finance Minister and the Jubilee House.
