The power transmitter has thus served notice a schedule will be drawn and made public in the coming days.

According to Ebenezer Amankwah, a Corporate Communications Manager for GRIDCo the outages are based on requests from many contractors expected to carry out the maintenance works on power stations, bulk supply points among others.

“There are are a plethora of projects ongoing currently to resolve inherent challenges in the distribution and transmission aspects of the power production value chain”, said Ebenezer in an interview with the CNR.

He further explained, “These projects are scattered across the country; we have some in Accra, some in Kumasi among others.”

Mr. Amankwah said GRIDCo is in talks with the ECG to decide on how best to go about the outages in order not to severely impact Ghanaians.

“The contractors are asking for some outages within some specific periods so that they can complete projects by the first quarter of this year’s deadline…We have to discuss with ECG on the requests that are coming up to look at how we can balance the load so that we can minimize as much as possible the impact it will have directly on customers while making sure that they can keep to their schedule,” he was further quoted by the portal as saying.

He further revealed that the intermittent power outages will mainly be between April and June 2021 adding that while some areas may experience the outages intermittently within four days, it may be longer in other areas based on the magnitude of work being done on the related power supply line.

Opinion: The PSB is not Based on Governmental (Executive) Decisions

SEE ALSO: Gold production in Ghana projected to increase by 9% in 2021 – Fitch Solutionshttp://Gold….

The Speaker of parliament is mandated by law to constitute the Parliamentary Service Board(PSB) (council of elders for the house). Are we saying Speaker who is NDC should appoint Npp persons to serve as his advisors?

All the people at the Speaker’s office have been replaced with NDC people. From the security, Secretary etc.

    THE PSB

The PSB is not Based on Governmental Decisions

So what is wrong when the party agreed to allow general to serve on the board to help the speaker and our minority leader to put measures in place to steering the affairs of NDC towards victory 2024?

Remember, party decision needs to be taken into consideration to help the board as well, so surely a party person must be appointed by the speaker to serve both national and NDC interest.

The PSB is not Based on Governmental Decisions

Let us keep praying for our leaders and JM and hoping for the best in coming months.

NB: The PSB is not an executive appointed (Government). So general and hon Haruna are not serving on the parliamentary service board as Nana Addo appointees.

I know how disappointed all of us are but party strategies can’t be discussed in the public domain so let calm down and see what our leadership has for us towards victory 2024.

    Thanks.

Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta has hinted that Thomas Partey could be available for Ghana’s final home game against Sao Tome.

The 27-year-old midfielder has been left out of Ghana’s 28 man squad for the doubleheader against South Africa and Sao Tome.

    AFRICA

Ghana will be hosted at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg on March 25.

The Black Stars sit tops but tie on points with next opponents South Africa who they will be facing with a weak squad next week.

2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers

“The ones that are going to be in red zone countries, they won’t be able to play those fixtures, the rest we have to allow them to go if they are fit and we will stick to the protocols and all the guidance we have to try to allow our players to go when they are safe,”  Arteta said on Wednesday.

    AFRICA

“Some might be able to play one game and not the next game so it’s a lot still to figure out. The doctor is in constant communication with the Premier League and the federations but it’s not too simple,” Arteta added.

A defeat in Johannesburg would put the Black Stars under immense pressure to defeat São Tomé in the final qualifier at the Accra Sports Stadium on March 28.

You Can Be Affected by Coronavirus Even if Vaccinated”- Dr. Mwangangi

The Kenyan Ministry of Health has come out to clarify that COVID-19 vaccination does not prevent one from contracting the coronavirus.

In a press briefing on Friday, Health Ministry CAS Dr. Mercy Mwangangi said the vaccine only serves to boost the immune system and get it ready to fight the virus.

She added that even individuals who get the virus can still transmit COVID-19 to others.

“Getting the vaccine does not mean that you cannot get COVID-19. Getting the jab does not mean that you cannot transmit the COVID-19. What the jab does is that it makes your immunity system alert. It prepares you for war, should you come across the virus your immune system will be ready to fight and manage that virus,” said Mwangangi.

She, however, noted that vaccination will help reduce the number of severe cases being witnessed, most of which result in deaths.

“What we know is that this jab will prevent progression to severe cases for COVID-19 meaning the cases we report for severe cases are bound to reduce if we have the right number of people vaccinated and that is the usefulness of this vaccine,” said the Health CAS.

Dr. Mwangangi urged Kenyans to continue wearing masks and observing the stipulated safety protocols even after getting vaccinated.

“Remember getting this vaccine still requires you to wear your mask and social distance because you can still get the disease however mild and you can still transmit the disease,” she said.
